Chapter 30: Christmas in Hell
Professor McGonagall looked perplexed at the woman in front of her. "You're a demon," she asked as Charlie nodded her head, looking sheepish. "Not only that but the Princess of Hell?" Again, Charlie nodded. "Goodness me. So there is a Heaven and Hell," she said, taking a seat near her desk.
"Professor? Is everything okay," Charlie asked the older woman.
"I'm fine, child. I don't think I should be calling you that," McGonagall said. She may have been old, but she guessed Charlie was even older than her despite only looking like she was in her 20s. "I'm surprised that Harry was adopted by Satan's family out of anyone."
"Lucifer's actually," Charlie said, correcting the Scottswoman. "Satan rules the Ring of Wrath while my Dad Rules all of Hell, but occupies the Ring of Pride mainly."
McGonagall looked at the Princess of Hell as she asked her next question. "Does Professor Dumbledore know?"
"Yes. Beside you, the only ones that know about this are Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape, and Hagrid," she told the older-looking woman.
McGonagall would have to talk with Professor Dumbledore later about why she wasn't informed and the Head of Slytherin was. But seeing as Harry was in a place where Voldemort couldn't get to him and had people who cared for him, McGonagall was relieved. Literal demons themselves were a much more capable family for Harry instead of that fat walrus of an uncle of his, his horse-faced wife, and their pig of a child. While any other person would assume Charlie is evil incarnate based on her saying she's a demon, McGonagall saw how the girl acted with the students and knew her intentions were nothing cruel or manipulative. Minerva got up from her chair and handed the broom to Charlie. "Give this back to your brother and I wish you a happy holiday."
"Thank you, Professor," Charlie said as she took the broom from the Transfiguration teacher and headed off to get ready for the train ride back to King's Cross.
It was the day that some of the students were going back home for the holidays and both Ron and Hermione had to stay in school because Mr. Weasley was going to be working extra time and Hermione's parents were going to be away with other families. After saying all of that to Harry, they made sure to see him off before he and Charlie left for home. "I'll be back so we can all hang out at Hogsmeade later."
"We'll give you a proper tour when you get back," Ron said to his best friend.
"Have fun," Hermione told Harry as she hugged him goodbye.
"I will," Harry said. He was excited to hang out with Verosika, Loona, and Octavia when he got back home, but remembered that he had to spend New Year's Eve inside the castle since that was Execution Day.
"Harry," Charlie called out to him as she had their stuff packed.
"I'll see you guys after the holiday," the Prince of Hell told them as he said his final goodbyes and walked alongside his sister. The pair walked to Hogsmeade station and rode in a car with only the two of them while the Hogwarts Express made its way to London "Can't wait to come back home?"
"A little. I enjoyed myself at school, but I'm happy to see Mom and Dad. What about you?" the Princess of Hell asked her brother.
"Same as you. And also seeing Prince Stolas, Razzle, and Dazzle, and the girls," he told her.
"Did you get anything for them for Christmas," she asked with a teasing smirk.
"Not really. You know demons don't celebrate Christmas or any other holiday," he said as Charlie's smirk turned into a frown.
