Mipha's POV:

7 months, that's how long it's been since I was rescued, and how long it's been since I found out I was pregnant with a baby that didn't belong to my fiance. Last month we started actually planning our wedding, we're thinking something like a galaxy theme, since he loves Cosmic Frontier. Hunter has been away all week with Gus in the human realm. He and Gus were going to some conventions and what not, but he had to come back today since Luz's Kingceañera was tomorrow. Luz is moving here to the Boiling Isles to go to my mom's new University. Mom never told me about it until last month when she opened it, she's been tired but has loved every moment of running a school her own way.

It's amazing just how much time has passed, my 21st birthday was in roughly 3 months. It's only May, but Mom said Luz had instisted on moving over early to have some fun and get ready for her "education adventure"- as Luz called it. I walked around the house, smiling at the boxes that needed unpacked. We had cleaned out one of the many rooms in our home and were planning to turn it into the nursery, but I've been so tired, and Hunter's been busy with work.
I walked into the pale blue room, smiling to myself before taking a deep breath and beginning to unpack the crib.
Mom and Nini got me to go to therapy, so I'm actually looking forward to meeting our little one. We're waiting until the birth to find out what gender they are. I wanted gender neutral things, made it feel more comfortable for both myself and Hunter since we didn't want to repaint this room 50 times.

Celeste flew in, hooting and resting on the window sill, watching me careful use magic to assemble the birch wood crib.
"You're supposed to be resting" she tilted her head, tapping the window sill with her flat forehead.
"I know, I rested all week, I got bored" I shrugged, smiling as the crib was nice and sturdy, letting me assemble the mattress by hand and set it inside. I felt emotional, hungry, and like I needed to pee for the 50th time.

"Can't believe this is even happening... I thought we'd only have our first when we were like... I don't know, 26? Just from life, and wondering about the whole Grimwalker thing... No matter what, Hunter loves this baby, even though it wasn't made in the best circumstances" I sighed, cradling my bump with my hands. Mom had given me the shirt she used to wear when she was pregnant with me, it fits me perfectly right now, showing how much thinner and smaller I am than she was.

I started humming, looking around and tapping my foot a few times. I hummed Raine's Rhapsody for a little before I spun in a circle and let the magic escape through my bare feet on the carpet, everything started assembling itself, the changing table, rocking chair, shelves, everything just did it's thing as I sang to myself. Celeste came and turned into my staff and let me tap it onto the ground a few times, watching the mobile hang itself above the crib. Little stars twinkled above where our little one would sleep every night. I felt excitement bubble in my stomach, making me giggle and gently tap one of the stars to make the mobile spin.

I walked to a laundry  basket full of baby supplies. Clothing, diapers, burp cloths, etc. I started putting those away, smiling wide as I hung all the clothes, and put things in drawers and cupboards. I heard the door, making me exhale calmly knowing my fiance was home safe. I heard heavy footsteps before they stopped. I continued putting clothes away, folding some onsies and stashing them in a drawer in the changing table.

"Look at the little Owl making her nest, Owl Lady would be proud" I heard him chuckle, coming and hugging me from behind, putting his hands on my bump and kissing the side of my neck.

"Missed you, Meephs" he mumbled, his voice sounding husky as he was obviously tired.
"Missed you too, Goldie" I shrugged, leaning my head to rest on his as he used my shoulder as a perch for his cheek.

"Bought a ton of Cosmic Frontier baby things. This kid's gonna look great" He laughed, nuzzling his face into my shoulder before I felt tired. Exhaustion washing over me as I realised I over-did it with my magic. Hunter felt me waver a bit and was quick to reposition himself to support me.
