I'm running out of ideas so I'm throwing this book into madness, it'll have purpose but madness is the only option to save my sanity right now.

4 years later...

Mipha's POV:

"Kikimora for the last time- They're not organized like that! It's alphebetical! I didn't spend hours with Aunt Lily just for you to shove the books where ever!" I yelled the room shaking as Kikimora groaned and took the books back, trudging off to do it correctly. I smirked, she's really trying to avoid doing the work needed to pay off her debts, it's amusing in a way.
I was happy to be working again, Amity and Luz's wedding took a lot of work, plus with Gus graduating and working fulltime at the University we had to schedule everything perfectly.

I planned everything, and it all... was a disaster. Hooty ate the cake, King got stuck in the decorations, the plants went insane and ate a couple people, who are now in the hospital but are alive. Then the Bat Queen's kids went bezurk, Emira and Viney's daughter's had a witches duel and destroyed what was left.
I was not impressed, in fact I had like 50 breakdowns watching everything go nuts. I had planned everything and it just self destructed. Either way, the two weirdos were married and on their honeymoon at the sandy toes of the Isles.

"Mipha! Hunter's here!" I smiled as Aunt Lily peeked her head into the archives, letting me laugh and put my clipboard and pen on my desk and my scroll in the pocket of my overalls before running out and passed my Aunt towards the entrance where my handsome husband of 4 years stood. He saw me and laughed, opening his arms and catching me, spinning me round before kissing my face all over.

"You're supposed to be resting ma'am!" he laughed, tickling my sides and making me squeal.
"I'm fine, they healed me!" I laughed with him, he kissed my face again.
"Ready to go...?" he asked, a newfound sadness in his voice, and I knew why... I felt it too.

We lost another yesterday.

Baby #9.... today was to look at other options.
We mounted our staff's and flew off towards Bonesborough medical, a place that so far only held tradgic memories for me. Only time I've been here was to be told I'm pregnant, only to visit again a month later and miscarry. My body was paying a price that no magic could heal; the despair of losing a child over and over. We checked in and sat down, before we glanced to our right and saw Emira sitting there by herself.

"Hey Em-" Hunter waved to his step-sister, who responded with a smile.
"Hey! What're you two doing here?" She moved to sit next to me, I liked Emira, she's a sweet person who has a knack for jokes and pranks when she was with her brother.

"We've been... trying to have a child" I shrugged, Emira's smile falling into a frown as she pieced the puzzle together on her own.
"How many?" I put my hands up, showing her 9 fingers as her eyes got glossy with tears.
"I'm so sorry... I don't know what to say" she sighed, cradling her bump in her arms. I asked her where Viney was, to which she said she was at the simmering hot springs to help creatures being affected by the floodings.

They were expecting their 3rd child, the first adopted, the other was carried by Viney. Guess it was Emira's turn.

"We're figuring it out. Getting pregnant isn't a problem- as you can tell... it's keeping the pregnancy that's hard for us, Mipha's done everything she can"
"Thought of adoption? I know it's not for everyone but it is there" she asked, hugging me as I smiled and leaned on her, happy to have someone to talk to about the subject a bit more.

"We thought of it, but we personally want a baby that's ours... it sounds mean, but.."
"No no! Seriously it's not for everyone! It takes a lot to adopt... a lot emotionally, and the process takes years and may not always work. No shame in recognizing your preferences, a lot of kids end up unloved by families because they think they'll love the kid, but just never get that connection they would to their own blood" she nudged me, making me feel better before a nurse called for us. We said goodbye, hugging her before going into the room.
We did the usual, checking for damage, healing me more, then discussing options.
