Chapter 20

I cried while writing this because I had to watch the ending scene so many times and it made me emotional.

Hunter's POV: 

We finally got to the house, all of us waiting with anticipation. I held Mipha by her waist, letting her lean on me as my arm was around her waist and my hand on the side of her bump, she hummed in satisfaction. She's been so touchy lately, just enjoying each time I'd hold her. 

"Everyone in position?" Eda asked, all of us nodding as the door glowed bright, King running over to join the rest of us.

"Hurry! Hurry!" Vee laughed, coming through the now opened door.
"What's the rush, Vee? No one's gonna be mad if we're a little late!" We heard Luz, all of us getting excited.
"Yes, but today is special!" Camila laughed, pulling Luz through, who had her eyes covered with her hand.
"Ok! Ok!" she opened her eyes and gasped, all of us jumping in excitement.

"SURPRISE" We all yelled, clapping for her as she looked at the party we'd set up for her, Gus making sure "Happy King-ceanera!" was nice and bright above us like a neon sign. 
Amity ran forward to Luz, hugging her tight as Mipha tried to hide behind me, knowing if Luz saw her belly right now, the surprise would be ruined and the party would no longer be about Luz. Mipha's been excited for this, but when we realised we never told Luz or Amity about the baby... Mipha worried that if she came to the party, she would ruin it.

"W-What is this...?" Luz asked as Amity kissed her cheek.
"Well, since you spent your 15th birthday helping us rebuild the isles-"
"And 16th, and 17th" King added after Eda, Amity walking back towards us.
" We wanted to make it up to you!" Amity cheered, Willow walking over to pipe in.

"Camila told us all about your "King-ceanera's" from the human realm!"
"They sounded A LOT less haunted than our birthdays!" Gus smiled, adjusting his glasses.
"Never the less, I made sure we followed Camila's instructions perfectly!" Lilith boasted as Luz looked around, Camila growing slightly uncomfortable by how.... wrong, we all interpreted everything. We tried to tell Lilith, but Eda told us it was no use.

"Greeaaat work everyone... Muy Bueno..." Camila gave a nervous thumbs up as she watched everything go a little nuts. What with spider's in the cake, an echo mouse stitching hands to a dress, and Hooty threatening to hit a snaggle-back with a bat. 

"And Look! Look!" King cheered, drawing a glyph in the dirt before a light glyph appeared, shocking us all as we realised King's magic had grown.

"King's powers are getting stronger! Yeah, it looks like they're different from his dad's.. But hey, you've got a whole new glyph language to try out!" Eda snorted in laughter, Luz growing tearful and hugging King.

"We've got another surprise!" King smiled, getting back to the ground and running in front of us, pointing to the sky. 
"The Collector was in the area, and well... he wanted to do something special for the occasion! Look!" We all walked to the cliff's edge and stared into the stars, the Collector letting loose a colorful show of stars, lights, and beauty unlike anything any of us had ever seen.

"Eda... King... thank you, for everything" Luz smiled, Eda smiling and hugging the girl.
"Right back at ya, kiddo"
"Weirdo's?" Luz asked, putting her hand out.
"Weirdo's" they responded, King and Eda putting their hands on Luz's before she gasped.

"They're nearly gone-"
"I thought they were coming down for a visit...?" Mipha whispered in my ear, letting me shrug.
"Maybe he got tied up with something" I replied, this making Mipha frown, as she was looking forward to seeing the Collector again.

"Ok everyone! On the count of three! One, Two, Three-"

"BYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEE~~~!!" We all shouted and laughed, waving at the Collector as he left, a bitter sweet goodbye as the most of us were hoping to get to visit with the little guy again. Once that was done we went to enjoy the food and games. I noticed Mipha stumble, making me worry as I was quick to help her up.
