"What's this, Epel?" A voice calls out. "Are you shirking your vocal practice to parley with the pigeons?"
"Ah!" Epel exclaims as his eyes widen behind the four. The sounds of footsteps appear and the four turned around, following his line of sight. "Vil..."
The person named Vil stood proudly in front of them, the four covering their eyes by how sparkly he was. Angel observed the person, eyes widen at how beautiful he was. He was at least over half a foot taller than her, with neck-length platinum blond hair with purple highlights near the end, with part of his hair braided to meet at the back. She noticed that his eyes were a light purple color, lighter than hers, but the difference was that he had a sharp gaze on the five, and she noticed a bit of what looks like to be black eyeshadow on his eyelids. Upon closer inspection, she can see that he had a sharp jawline, flawless skin, and make up, as if he was a perfect being made to exist. His neat appearance only dazzled her more, seeming professional but also mature, and his posture almost left her speechless, making him give off a demanding and regal presence. She had a feeling that if her body could move based on his body language alone, she would have no choice but to bow down to let him pass. As she looked at him, something came up to her. She's...seen this person before, and it was recently. Where was it again...? "So that's Vil Scheonheit, the Pomefiore housewarden," Deuce says as he looks at him in awe.
"Dude! He looks so regal up close, it's actually imposing," Ace says as he looks at him.
"I feel small just lookin' at him!" Grim says as he looks at the four.
"He's definitely got an air about him..." Angel mumbles. She noticed that he was looking at her, almost making her self-conscious about her looks herself. How could there be someone so beautiful? She noticed that his eyes were moving up and down, almost as if he was assessing her and she blushes, part of it out of embarrassment at the fact that she felt inadequate compared to him and part of it is being recognized by such a beautiful person. No one should be this beautiful she thinks, still feeling his eyes on her, making her look away at the stare. While trying her best to avoid his gaze, she took a quick peek at him, almost seeing his lips opened for a bit in slight surprise almost as if he was stunned, but then she saw that his lips twitched a bit at her for a quick second, but back to his normal expression, making her a bit confused. Was that...a frown? It might have been a figment of her imagination. He stops his stare on her, making her sigh in relief, and look at the others.
"You there. Spudlings," He calls out to the three, making them confused.
Grim looks around, trying to figure out who he was talking about. Once he saw that no one aside from the six was in the courtyard, he looks to him in confusion. "Are you talkin' to us?" He asks.
"Who else would I be addressing?" He speaks. "This is a critical time for Epel. We have less than two months until the SDC. He has no time to waste playing with unwashed spuds," he glares at the three. "Do not disturb him during his rehearsals."
"Excuse me?" Ace says in slight anger.
"We weren't trying to disturb him," Deuce says.
"Vil, they ain't done nothin' to deserve how you're talkin! Ah was..." Epel defends only to realize what he said and clears his throat. "Ahem. I was-"
"Epel," Vil interrupts with a glare on him. "How many times have I told you to avoid improper contractions and double negatives?" He scolds. "How are you supposed to get anywhere if you break character anytime your emotions grow heated? You'll never be a bright red poison apple at this rate. Come, Epel. We're leaving," he commands. Angel looks at him in shock at his tone. If that was headed to me, I would have no choice but to follow!
"But honestly, I'd rather be-"
"Have you forgotten our agreement?" Vil coldly asks and Epel flinches. "Now come," he commands again.
Epel only looks down, clenching his fists. "Rgh..."
"Hey, hold up," Ace speaks, getting Vil's attention. "I don't care if you ARE housewarden. He doesn't wanna go."
"And I don't appreciate you callin' us potatoes the moment you meet us," Grim says with angry look.
Angel and Deuce look at the two, seeing a familiar look in their eyes and panic starts to rise. "G-guys, no!" Deuce quickly says to the two. "The headmage's told us repeatedly that fighting's against the rules!"
"Come on, guys," Angel pleads. "Let's not make this into a fight, please." Besides... She took a quick glance at Vil looking at them with an indifferent expression. I don't think they might be able to stand a chance against him. The pleading works a bit on Ace, but takes a while for Grim to accept, making him huff.
"Exactly," Epel reassures them. "I'll be fine, really..."
"Heh," Vil chuckles, getting Ace, Deuce, and Grim's attention. "Mere tubers dare to challenge my authority? A bold move," he taunts, making the two ire rise again. "This should make for a fine post-meal workout." He looks at them and the two glare at him, pushing through Deuce and Angel to get ready for a fight. "Try me. I'll make mashed potatoes out of the lot of you." The taunt only works as Grim starts to hold his breath, summoning a fire spell at him, and shoots it at him, but Vil waves his pen gracefully, successfully cancelling the spell with ease before it got a foot near him. Along with that motion, Vil was able to send a spell of his own to Grim, knocking him back at the unexpected attack.
"Gyah!" Grim exclaims after being hit.
Ace sees this and releases an ice spell at him, hoping to get a surprise attack on him, but Vil noticed and quickly dodged it by gracefully stepping out of the way, and shot a spell at Ace, the speed becoming too fast for him to block it.
"Guh!" He exclaims as the spell hits him. Angel could watch in shock at the scene, seeing that Ace and Grim were hit, but was focused on Vil's movements. No matter what he did, every move of his was graceful, calculated, and regal that it left her in awe. She didn't think someone moving an arm or a finger would look beautiful doing it, but Vil made it all look easy while looking good. Deuce saw Grim and Ace kneeled over from the attacks and pull his pen out, summoning a quick spell at Vil, but Vil was faster and moved the pen through his finger to send a spell at Deuce, knocking him back as well.
"Gah!"
Angel and Epel looks at the three, seeing them all kneeled over, trying to collect their bearings before standing up, looking at Vil, seeing that he had a bored expression on his face as he observes the three gritting their teeth. He huffs, and put his pen away, almost saying that fighting them anymore wasn't worth his time, making the three glare at his actions. Angel could only watch as Vil's focus went towards her and Epel, making them flinch at the look. That was over in seconds... She thinks as she glanced at the three, finally able to stand up and walk, but groaning. His magic's impressive if he was able to knock them down in one hit, but...that poise... "Your moves are all utterly unchoreographed," Vil curtly states to the three. "It's embarrassing to watch, frankly- and woefully inelegant, to boot. You get five out of one hundred. Next time you pick a fight, think twice about who you're challenging."
"Ah..." Epel says as he looks at the three. "They took all that because of me..." He sadly says. Angel kept silent, looking for the words to say, but would it even make a difference to Vil?
"My, I must seem like quite the villain," Vil says to the two. "But know this, Epel- the fault lies entirely with you for skipping your rehearsals during the holidays." Epel sighs sadly and Angel looks at Vil in shock at his words. He speaks worse than Riddle! "There is much work yet to be done if we are to earn our places as SDC finalists. You don't get to be number one by relaxing. Now come."
"Yes, sir..." Epel sadly says, taking a step towards Vil. Angel grabbed his hand, stopping him and he noticed, seeing that she was at least trying to stop him to tell him something, anything she could think of, but he gives her a small smile, slightly shocking her as she slowly let go, knowing that he at least appreciated the sentiment, but knowing that she couldn't do anything about it, letting him continue his walk towards Vil. He looks to the four, seeing the three look at him with a sympathetic look. "See you later, guys..." he sadly says.
