"Bwah ha ha!" Ace laughs. "You can't even pull off basic baby steps, Deuce."
"H-Hey, whaddaya want from me?!" Deuce snaps. "I've never danced in my life!"
"Myow ow ow..." Grim groans as Angel approaches the floor, looking at Grim's paws. "My hands 'n feet are movin' at the same time..."
Angel finishes inspecting his paws and looks at Ace and Deuce, seeing Ace still smirking at Deuce while Deuce glares at him. She got in the middle of the two, hoping to prevent any potential fight between the two. "We've got nowhere to go but up!" She says, getting their attention. "We still got a while before auditions so I believe you guys can do it." The two sigh, thinking about her words, knowing that they were right.
"Ooh, are you guys dancing, too?" Kalim asks as he and Jamil approaches the four. "Let us join in!" He happily says. Angel could see that they were in their P.E. uniform, or at least, what's supposedly is their P.E. uniform. She sees that Kalim has tied the top half of his jumpsuit around his waist, showing off the white markings on his biceps, with the sleeves of his maroon shirt rolled up. Jamil was the same, aside from the fact that he wasn't wearing a jumpsuit, at least she thinks he isn't, seeing that he was just wearing some black pants that reached his ankles, with a sleeveless maroon hoodie on, and maroon wristbands on both of his wrists.
"Myah!" Grim exclaims. "It's Scarabia's most dysfunctional duo." Angel glares at Grim, and Grim flinches at the stare a bit.
"I don't appreciate you making up pet names," Jamil says with a sigh. "And we are not dysfunctional."
"Oooh, Angel, are you dancing too?" Kalim asks, seeing that she was in her uniform. "Aw, you're not dancing?"
"No, Kalim, I'm not," Angel answers with a small smile.
"Awww. I was hoping that we can dance again! It was fun!" He happily says.
"Key, Kalim. Hey, Jamil," Ace greets, getting their attention. "Lemme guess: you guys are auditioning for the SDC too?"
"Yup!" Kalim happily answers. "It's a big festival, and there's not better occasion to dance! Jamil and I happen to both be good at that AND singing. Right, Jamil?"
"I'd rather not draw that much attention to myself, personally," he sighs.
"I saw you guys from behind, and goodness, you've all got two left feet!" Kalim says with a smile. "It was like watching an elephant panic and rear back on it's hind legs. Aha ha!" Jamil and Angel only sweat dropped at Kalim's words. "You can hardly dance, and you'll have to do that while simultaneously singing at the audition. Maybe you're in above your heads here."
The statements shocked the three while Angel and Jamil sigh at him. "Rgh....The fact that you said all that with compete sincerity makes it even worse," Deuce sighs.
Ace thinks for a moment. "Hey, come to think it-Jamil, you taught Floyd some dance moves at Basketball Club practice once. Dancing is kinda your thing, right? Mind sharing some pro strats with us?"
"Great idea!" Kalim agrees. "You can't go wrong with Jamil as your coach."
"He asked me, not you!" Jamil corrects. He clears his throat. "Ahem. Anyway, teaching makes good practice for me, so...sure." He says with a sigh and look at the three. "For beginners, we should start with isolation. Spread your feet as wide as your shoulders..."
"Deuce, ease up your shoulders a bit more," Jamil corrects while Deuce corrects his posture. "Moving your hand and shoulders at the same time will make your whole body look stiff."
"H-how am I supposed to move my head and shoulders separately?!" Deuce exclaims as he tries to mimic the movements. "Just thinking about that would make me fall behind the music."
"You won't get anywhere in dancing by thinking things out. Just follow the rhythm and work on your muscle memory," Jamil says. Eventually, sounds of people approaching the gym start to fill the air, reminding the six that lunch was almost over. "Ah, afternoon class is about to start. Time to wrap up our practice session."
"Awwww, already?" Kalim whines as he stops dancing. "Time sure flies when you're busting moves!"
Deuce pants for a moment. "Jamil! Kalim! Thank you for the training session, sirs!"
"Seriously, Jamil. I can tell you're used to tutoring," Ace states. "In less than an hour, you've gotten Deuce and Grim from zero skills to...some skills."
"Yeah, even I was amazed at how far they progressed," Angel says in awe. "You're a great teacher, Jamil."
Jamil was taken aback by the compliment and clears his throat. "Your sense of rhythm is lacking, but you've got solid reflexes," he says to Deuce. "Keep practicing and you should be able to get the hang of dancing eventually."
"Right! Thanks!" Deuce shouts.
"It's hard to gauge whether Grim has actually improved any..." He looks at Grim, thinking about the words to say. "He's agile. I suppose. Maybe."
"This has all been pretty fun, actually," Grim happily says. "I'll show you all even smoother moves tomorrow!"
"Be careful not to focus too hard on dancing," Jamil warns. "You can't afford to neglect your singing. You need to strike a proper balance between the two in your rehearsals."
"True. We've still got a lot of work to do," Deuce says in thought.
"Hey, guys," Kalim says. "What would you say to group practice sessions starting tomorrow? Jamil's a great singer, for the record. You should get him to demonstrate."
Jamil loks at Kalim in shock. "Wh- again, you're making commitments on my behalf!" He exclaims.
"What's the harm in that?" Kalim asks. "When it comes to dancing, singing, and parties, the rule of thumb is the more, the merrier!"
"Sign us up!" The three collectively says, making Angel giggle.
"Deal! We're in this together now!" Kalim happily says.
"Hmph," Jamil huffs. "Such a demanding bunch you are...But fine. So be it. Be warned, though- if you think I'll go easy on you, think again."
"Yeah, whatever," Ace says as he brushes off the warning. "We're used to being run ragged by our own housewarden."
"Do your worst, sir!" Deuce adds.
"Then before we leave, we'd best tidy things up. Go fetch some mops from storage," he says to the two.
"Yes, sir!" Deuce, Ace and Kalim says as they walk off to the storage, getting the cleaning supplies.
"Kalim, you don't have to..." Jamil sees that his words feel silent and sighs.
"At least things are better between you two," Angel says as Jamil sighs at her statement, at least not disagreeing with her.
A knock is heard, getting their attention as they see a familiar person walking towards them. "Ah, excellent. There you are, Jamil," Azul says as he approaches the three.
