Elijah had been keeping himself hidden since being woken, and Brooke had no idea where which stressed her out greatly. She was so on edge about waking him up in case her friends found out, and her sister was the only person who knew about it because she had asked Care to lie for her about having been busy yesterday.

Her sister didn't necessarily approve of her choice, but Brooke didn't really care, nor could she take it back. To try and avoid her guilt, and Damon, Brooke had just been trying to distract herself with tonight's decade dance, and luckily history class was their first subject today and by far the most boring, which made it the best distraction.

The twins slid into their seats beside each other, both of them looking at the decade dance posters on their desks.

"Ugh" Caroline huffed "That skank Emily got the colours all wrong. I mean this poster doesn't even half sell the dance"

Her sister rolled her eyes. "Care, the poster looks great, and it's not like the entire school is going to flake just because Emily chose this format instead of yours. We put a lot of work into this, so it'll be fine"

Caroline chuckled "We? I seem to remember you weren't answering your phone yesterday while I was trying to find a new caterer after ours pulled out"

Brooke's eyes darted forwards two rows, where Stefan was sitting. "Well, that wasn't my fault" she said pointedly

"Speaking of good looking men, will you and your boyfriend be there tonight?" she asked

"I kind of forgot to ask him, but he'll be there I'm sure" she shrugged "What about you? Is Matt coming?"

Her sister beamed. "Yes, and I can't wait. I just want to go to a dance with my boyfriend and be normal for once"

"Don't we all?" laughed Brooke

"Hello, class" exclaimed Alaric as he took his place at the front of the classroom, silencing his chatty students. "What are we learning today?"

At the front, Dana tentatively raised her hand, and Alaric nodded at her. "With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week"

He nodded. "Right. The sixties" His eyes darted around the room, lingering for a moment on Elena, before he cleared his throat and turned back to his blackboard "The, uh, ahem...The sixties. I wish there was something good I could say about the sixties, but... Actually, they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, of course. They made it bearable. Uh, what else was there? The Cuban missile thing, the... we walked on the moon. There was Watergate"

Elena frowned. "Watergate was the seventies, Ric. I-I mean, Mr. Saltzman"

He flushed slightly "It all kind of mushes together up here, the sixties, seventies. Thank you, Elena"

Brooke glanced at her sister, relieved to find that she looked equally as confused. Alaric was normally super passionate and focused on his subject, but today he seemed really spaced out and jumpy. She didn't know if it had to do with this impending threat of Klaus, or something with Jenna, but he seemed off his game.
