Damon and Brooke, to everyone's surprise, were going well. They worked well together, and finally Damon was really showing her how much he cared. Their friends's only concern was that as two extremely hot-headed vampires, going out and drinking from humans was a fun time for them, especially as a couple.
However, today they had no time for that because Elijah had resurfaced, posing as some historian to Jenna Gilbert, which worried everyone.
Alaric had immediately called Damon to tell him, and their only hope was that he could use this to find out Elijah's plans.
"Hey" Brooke said to her boyfriend, sliding into the seat beside him, and opposite Alaric at the Grill
"Hi" Damon smiled, kissing her softly
Alaric raised his eyebrows. "This is too weird. That's my student, Damon"
Brooke snorted. "What? Him being a 150 year old vampire was okay, but the student thing is too weird?"
Alaric sighed "Fair enough"
"So, other than the lecture on the history of Mystic Falls, did you get anything out of Elijah?" Damon asked his best friend
"No, it was boring." said Alaric "Of course, Jenna thinks he's charming"
Damon grinned "You sound jealous. Sound a bit jealous?"
Brooke hummed. "Kinda do"
He scowled at both of them "Okay just because you two are shacking up, does not mean you can suddenly be relationship experts"
Brooke shrugged. "I know. But if Jenna finds Elijah charming, and let's face it, what girl wouldn't? Then you can't just go in all psycho without blowing everyone's cover"
Her boyfriend frowned "You find Elijah charming?"
Alaric grinned. "Now who sounds jealous?"
Damon glared back at him. "Shut up. Look, all we need to do is find out exactly what Elijah plans to do about Klaus, and then keep him distracted enough so that we can kill him"
"We could throw a party?" suggested Alaric
"Too crowded" said Damon
"What about a dinner?" said Brooke "Wine him and dine him until he's soft enough, and then boom"
Damon raised his eyebrows. "It could work"
Alaric frowned. "Really? A dinner?"
He nodded "Yeah. Throw Elijah off his game. Brooke, you distract him with some fake interest and then we can hit him where it hurts"
She scoffed "I'm being used as bait now?"
Alaric, in amusement, sipped on his scotch. "Good luck with this one, buddy"
Before the couple could get into an argument, the doors to the Grill opened and in walked Elijah and Jenna. "Ah, there's Jenna with her new boyfriend." Damon quickly removed his arm from around Brooke's chair, and grinned politely at the approaching pair. "Hi"
