Everything had turned to shit within the last 24 hours. Tyler had finally completed his first transition into a werewolf with the help of Brooke and Caroline, but meanwhile, another werewolf had appeared in town.
Jules was an old friend of Mason's apparently and she was refusing to leave town until she knew where he really was, which they couldn't let happen without ruining Brooke and Damon's lives.
So, to try and save them, Damon had tried to get her off their track, which hadn't really worked because when Jules transitioned she had gone straight for him. However, Damon hadn't been alone, and Rose had thrown herself in front of him, getting bitten instead of him.
Now, Rose's bite was getting worse by the second and no one knew what to do about it.
To try and find out Damon and Alaric were going to find Jules and ask her what could fix it, and meanwhile Elena and Brooke were in charge of watching Rose.
She was still staying with the Salvatores so the pair arrived early the next morning and headed into the study where they could hear voices from.
Upon walking in, they found Damon with Rose, his hand pulling down the back of her shirt to reveal the wound on her shoulder. Even from the door they could see how ghastly and bloody it was, and Brooke almost winced.
"How is it?" Rose asked the man behind her.
Damon shrugged slightly "Definitely better. Right, guys?" Elena was shocked that he realised they were there without having said a word, but Brooke was not.
He glared at them sternly, obviously hoping they would go along with his lie, so Elena shakily said "Uh, it's not bad."
Damon nodded, pleased. "Where's Stefan?"
"He left." sighed Elena "I need you to talk to him. He's convinced that he has to find Isobel but I think that's gonna upset Elijah"
Damon shook his head. "No, cat do. I'm with Stefan on this one but if you could play nurse for a little while..."
From the sofa, Rose scoffed. "That's not necessary"
"It is necessary." he shot back "Elena is a do-gooder. It's in her nature, she just can't resist. And Brooke... well maybe you two can finally sort this out"
He sarcastically smiled at the blonde before leaving the room, so Brooke hurried after him. Being around Rose was not what she wanted to be doing at all right now, but she was tired of this anger between them.
"Damon" she said, grabbing his arm as they entered the living room
Damon sighed and turned to her. "What?"
"Is Rose going to die?" she hissed
Her friend nodded "Probably. The wolf bite caused some kind of infection and it's getting worse"
