Brooke and Damon were still not speaking after their huge argument, and she had been keen to avoid the Salvatore house as much as possible. However, with the full moon tonight she had no choice but to return so they could go through the final details of their plan to kill Klaus.
Brooke, Elena, and Stefan were sitting with Elijah in the study, who was taking them through it
"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse" He began
"Elena said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus" said Stefan
The original nodded "Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it... He'll be a true hybrid"
"Then why are we letting him break the curse?" asked Damon as he walked into the room, and Brooke scowled to herself "We can kill him today. With Bonnie"
"Damon-"
"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying" Elena said firmly
He shrugged. "I'll write her a great eulogy"
Brooke rolled her eyes and then snapped "It's not an option, Damon"
An awkward silence fell over them, so Stefan broke it by asking "All right, how do we break this curse?"
"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know" said Elijah
"The moonstone"
He nodded. "A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each"
Elena frowned "And where do I fit into it?"
"The final part of the ritual" He picked up the wooden box on the table beside him "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelganger... To the point of your death" He opened the box's lid and took a glass jar out from inside.
"And that's where you come in" Elena said nervously
He held the jar up to the group. "This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation"
"So I'll be dead?" she asked
"And then you won't" replied Elijah
A loud scoff came from Damon. "That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" He turned to Elena "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?"
Elijah shook his head "Those rings only work on humans. The doppelganger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work"
He snorted "I'll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn't work, Elena?"
