After a few years of sneaking back into the Forbes house after drinking, smoking, going to parties she wasn't supposed to, and meeting with boys she wasn't meant to, Brooke Forbes should have been much more talented at getting back into her house unnoticed.
She and Damon had left the Mystic Grill as dawn approached and Brooke knew her mother would be at work early after the attack on Tyler so she had hoped to get back inside and upstairs quietly and easily. However, that plan was ruined when she closed the front door behind her and then heard someone clear her throat in the hallway.
Brooke jumped in a panic and found her sister standing there looking bemused.
"Well, well, well" she smirked "Was it anyone I know?"
Brooke scowled at her and sarcastically replied "Calm down, mom, I was just drinking"
"Is that why your bra is in your purse?" Caroline pointed out, and Brooke noticed that the blue strap was slightly visible over the edge of her bag.
"I-I was just bored, okay" she said defensively, hastily shoving it deeper in the bag.
Caroline rolled her eyes "So that means it was someone it shouldn't have been. Can you just tell me?"
Brooke scoffed "Not happening and it wasn't important so just drop it. Please"
Her sister grinned "I would. But I don't think I'm the person you need to defend yourself to"
She passed her phone to Brooke who read the message open on it.

"We?" Brooke whispered nervously.
She nodded "I'll give you there guesses which sibling is with him"
Brooke's face paled "Care, please don't say anything. I'm begging you."
"I won't" she said softly "I promise. But if you really like him then you have to"
Brooke knew she was right, but the idea of telling Klaus that she had hooked up with Damon, who he despised, while Klaus was out of town made her feel sick to her stomach and Brooke was terrified it could ruin her future with Nik.

After learning that Klaus was coming back to town Brooke had taken especially long in the shower scrubbing at her bare skin as if it would get rid of the fact that Damon had touched her only last night.
And in an effort to move on from it quickly Brooke was eager to get to school and focus on anything but Damon or Klaus right now.
Caroline wasn't quick to let her forget what had happened but luckily when class started they wouldn't be able to talk about it so easily, which was why Brooke had nearly raced to her seat in history.
