8 . Friends

Jeongin watched Minho silently as he casted the spell around the woods once more enhancing it to be more powerful..

"All you have to do now is to make sure it stays strong and not fade with me gone... you know the incantation I told you."

Jeongin nodded
"I'm not a spell caster Minho, I won't be able to do it as you do it."
"Just make it stable.. you can do that... I believe in you."

They walked together to the middle of the woods where Minho opened a portal to pass through it to their world..

"Minho..."
Minho stopped and turned to Jeongin
"Why aren't you telling me what happened?... I need to know... I have the right to know."

Minho said nothing knowing how his brother is feeling but he doesn't want to risk anything anymore.

"Hyunjin isn't just your familiar... He is my friend... He is family and you know that. You can't just expect me to sit here not understanding anything."

Jeangin wasn't angry, he was sad... his words were shaken with fear and sadness. It broke Minho's heart but still he stayed quiet.

"Tell me what happened?... I left you two at home and everything was good and happy... then I return to this... Hyunjin is gone and doesn't even remember himself... and here of all places... the human realm that you hate so much... what happened?... who did this? And why hurt Hyunjin... he's literally an angel."

A moment of silence lingered between them, jeongin pleadingly looking at Minho for an explanation.

"I... I don't want you getting involved."
"It's Hyunjin... of course I'm involved"
He took a step closer to his brother.
"You said it will be quick to bring him home, and you didn't... you said you can fix it, and you couldn't... so maybe we can ask for help."

"No one is to be involved."
Minho got angry and turned to step into the portal.

"What about seungmin? He's our friend he will help."

Minho froze and anger built up in him, he quickly turned grabbing his brother by the shoulders

"No... no... seungmin ... he is.."
"He can help... he's a spell caster just like you.. and he's Hyunjin's friend.."

"I SAID NO."

"You can't always do everything on your own... sometimes it's okay to ask for help."
"Well I asked you."
"I'm a healer I can't help like a spell caster would..."
"I'll find a way by myself. And you stay here... keep the restrains strong and if Hyunjin got into the woods cause he always do... I guess the portal is attracting him... just make sure that nothing get to him."
"It's wearing you out..."
"..."
"You don't see yourself... darkness is filling you..."
"You have to fight darkness with darkness Jeongin"
"No... Hyunjin would disagree."

"WELL HE CAN'T HELP NOW, CAN HE?"
Minho snapped

"Him not here doesn't mean that we do what he doesn't like."
"It's the only way."
"You're losing yourself... I know he was the one balancing your powers... but you have to stop yourself from falling into this darkness... for him, for me... please... we can't lose you."

Jeongin was silent... He knows Minho is stubborn and arguing with him won't lead him anywhere... maybe right now the right thing to do is to protect Hyunjin from whatever entity out here trying to get him. So he just nodded for now he will accept not knowing.

After Minho left and the portal was shut, Jeongin walked aimlessly around thinking about everything.

He had left to attend to his studies as a healer like he always do for a month at a time, only this time he returned to this chaos.
Whatever happened, Minho is keeping it a secret, but it shouldn't be a secret to him.
Hyunjin is a part of him too, yes he is Minho's familiar but he was always treated as a part of the family. They were friends and brothers... and now he's gone and doesn't remember anything.
It ached in his heart. Why would someone do that? Seal Hyunjin's powers and send him here. Why and what was the point of it all.
