Wait

It seems waiting is more important than I thought. It's like a door, leading into Your will. I'm learning about the power of waiting, it seems. To let things go. Surrendering them to You. And to wait on You.

All my life I've tried to take control. When I gave my life to You, it still was a struggle. I tried to help myself. To heal myself. Which is laughable. Only You can heal. Only Your help works.

I tried to break away from sins on my own. But then I realized I never could. I'd keep falling. But then something wonderful happened. With one thing, I knew I was healed. How? I have no idea.

I just knew I was healed and I wouldn't fall back into that sin. I wasn't straining to take control. I was focused on growing in You and You did it on Your own.

Another example of the same kind, different sin. I was sick of myself and the draining this would cause my mentality. Until I remembered how I knew I became clean once before from no prior control. So I told myself "I'm done. I know it. I feel it"

There's been a rough few stumbles, but now it's in Your control. And You're working on me, refining my edges.

A newer example is the one that has confirmed the power of waiting. I knew I had to have a conversation with the guy I have feelings for at work. To set straight the obvious feelings that are there, but that I'm in no way ready. That God needs my full attention right now.

I prayed that we would have that conversation. But that he would start it. And once I set my desire clear to God, I let it go. I told Him I would wait. Not too long after, the exact thing happened. He confessed his feelings for me and told me we needed to have a conversation.

I've been itching over when it would happen, because it's hard to find the time at work, but I've been learning that patience is key. So I hand the situation over to You. I know it'll happen in Your time.

Patience is mentioned in the Bible plenty of times, now it's time to start showing it in my life.
