Chapter 133

Team Rocket's next planning day,

And Ash vs Paul again

One day Jessie, James and Meowth were out to catch wild pokemon for Giovanni again. "Okay so what pokemon should we go after this time?" said Meowth. James opened up a note book of his. "Let's see," said James "we've sent over Starlys, Shinxs, lots of fossils, Gibles and Bronzongs". "We also sent Buizels over to the boss;" said Meowth "after we failed capturing the twerp's Buizel we went to search for more wild Buizels and caught some". "That's right," said Jessie "and we also captured a herd of Hippopotas when we heard about that strange tunnel called the Maniac Tunnel". James was making sure he added Buizel and Hippopotas to his note book. "That seems to be about it" he said. "What shall we look for today?" asked Meowth.

Before James looked through his pictures of Sinnoh pokemon, they were suddenly interrupted by a buzzing sound. It was a Yanma. "Awe I'm so catching that pokemon;" said Jessie "I need a new member for my team". James and Meowth watched as Jessie released Purugly to battle Yanma. "Purugly use slash" said Jessie. Purugly charged at Yanma and scratched it hard. The Yanma was angry and it fired an ancient power attack towards Purugly, but Purugly dodged it. Suddenly Yanma glowed and it evolved into a big dragon fly pokemon. "What is that?" asked Meowth. James looked it up. "That's a Yanmega," he said "oh and get this Yanma evolves into Yanmega after learning ancient power". Jessie liked the Yanmega and ordered Purugly to use shock wave. Yanmega got shocked well by the electric attack. Jessie threw a pokeball at Yanmega and caught it. "Way to go Jess," said Meowth "when did Purugly learn shock wave anyway?" "I had a lot of money to go buy TM's and I got one that taught shock wave," said Jessie "I also got one for iron tail and shadow claw and my favourite hyper beam". "Nice" said Meowth.

Seeing Yanma evolve made James look thoughtful. "I wonder if the Yanmas we caught for the boss some time ago have evolved to Yanmega?" he said "And question is does he know about the other evolutions like how a Lickitung evolves into Lickilicky after learning rollout?" "Those are good questions, we should ask him; it won't do us any good if we don't know either" said Meowth.

The trio found a phone booth and James bravely dialled Giovanni. "Sorry to bother you sir, but I have a question to ask you sir" said James, once Giovanni picked up the phone. "And what is that?" asked Giovanni, in a scary tone. James explained to Giovanni about how Yanma evolves to Yanmega, how Aipom evolved to Ambipom and how Lickitung evolves into Lickilicky. "So I was wondering sir if all the Yanmas, Aipoms and Lickitungs at headquarters have all evolved yet?" "Yes I have heard about that and they have all evolved," said Giovanni "we have also made all the Gligars evolve to Gliscors, all the Sneasels evolve to Weaviles, all the Murkrows into Honchkrows, all the Misdreavus's into Mismagius's, all the Electabuzzs evolve to Electivires and all the Magmars evolve to Magmortars". "Understood sir, just needed to know sir" said James. The phone call ended. "He said he did know and they are all evolved" said James. "Okay so what shall we do now?" asked Meowth.

James had a look through his pictures of Sinnoh pokemon. He also took out a map of Sinnoh. "Hey that's handy" he said. "What is?" asked Jessie. "We are getting near a place called Pastoria City which is perfect;" said James "there's a place there called the Great Marsh and lots of wild pokemon live there". "That is handy, let's go there then" said Meowth. The humans agreed. So Jessie and James decided to go to Pastoria City, just like the gang was.

One day Ash and Tomo were doing some training; they learnt the Pastoria Gym used water type pokemon. Ash decided to use Luxio, Roselia and Zangoose and Tomo decided to use his Pikachu, Sunflora and Octillery. Dawn was admiring her Aqua ribbon. "I can't believe I really won my second contest ribbon at last" Dawn said to Brock. "Well you better believe it Dawn," said Brock "and this will mean that you won't doubt yourself as a coordinator again, will you?" "No," said Dawn "after what happened at the Wallace Cup I won't let anything crush me so much again". Brock was happy to hear that and so was Piplup.

Suddenly Ash's Buizel came out of his pokeball and he began shouting at Ash. "Hey Ash what's up with Buizel?" asked Dawn. "Buizel wants to do some battling;" said Ash "he's at the edge of evolving". "You see Dawn," said Brock "sometimes when a pokemon is about to evolve it develops strange behaviour. Sometimes they want to battle so much, like Buizel now, sometimes they run away to evolve somewhere and sometimes they become weak or aggressive". "Oh" said Dawn. "Alright then Buizel," said Ash "as I'm training Luxio, Roselia and Zangoose for our upcoming gym battle you can battle them. We'll soon get you evolving to Floatzel". Buizel was hoping that would happen. "Like that would do anything" said a voice.

The voice was from Paul. Of course Ash wasn't happy to see Paul, but he stayed polite. "What brings you here Paul?" asked Dawn. "Just here to train my pokemon and to find any new pokemon for my team" answered Paul. 'All you'll be doing is catching them, scanning them and releasing them' thought Ash. Paul turned to Ash. "I saw you participating in the Wallace Cup on TV," he said "especially that battle between Buizel and Lanturn. That was no different than how I had Chimchar battle in the Hearthome Tag Battle Tournament". "Excuse me Paul," said Ash, who remembered that time, "but there is a big difference between those battles. 1. I didn't make Buizel get seriously hurt from attacks like you did with Chimchar. And 2, I didn't go and abandon Buizel like you abandoned Chimchar". Paul just snorted. "The sooner that Buizel of yours evolves the better" he said, rudely. Suddenly a stream of water hit the ground in front of Paul; it was from Buizel. Both Ash and Buizel were cross with what Paul just said. "I suggest we battle and that way I can kill two birds with one stone; help Buizel evolve and show you what Buizel can do" said Ash. Buizel spoke out as if to say 'yeah'. Of course Paul found this annoying, but seeing Buizel's spirit made him agree to battle.

Ash and Paul took their places to battle, with Brock being the referee. "Oh boy," sighed Dawn "why am I not surprised that Ash would want to battle Paul when they meet up again?" "Well Dawn," said Tomo "wouldn't you battle Paul too if he made a rude remark about your contest performances?" "Now you've come to mention it I would" Dawn admitted. Ash's Buizel went out to the battlefield and Paul sent out his Electabuzz onto the field. "I'd like to see how your Buizel does against by Electabuzz" said Paul. Dawn didn't like the look of this. "This is Paul's way of battling," said Brock "we should not interfere".

Paul started off by telling Electabuzz to use thunder punch, and Ash had Buizel counter it with ice punch. Thanks to ice punch, Buizel was able to protect himself from thunder punch. "Buizel use dig" said Ash. Buizel dug his way underground. Electabuzz waited for Buizel to come out again, and then Buizel came out behind Electabuzz and hit it with water gun. Of course water gun didn't do that much damage but it gave Electabuzz a surprise. "Electabuzz thunder!" commanded Paul. Electabuzz fired a thunder attack. "Use your tail Buizel" said Ash. Buizel did the same iron tail move he did against Lanturn in the Wallace Cup to help against Electabuzz's thunder attack. It did help a bit, but Buizel still received some damage from the thunder attack. Of course Paul wasn't impressed. "Now Buizel use swift" said Ash. Buizel fired a swift attack and Electabuzz was hit by the stars. "Electabuzz brick break" said Paul. Electabuzz struck Buizel hard with brick break. "This battle is a waste of time; I can win this in just a couple of seconds" said Paul. "Don't think you've won yet!" Ash argued back "Buizel and I are not defeated yet!"

Suddenly Buizel glowed and he evolved into Floatzel. Ash was happy that Buizel evolved. He checked his pokedex and saw Floatzel now knew ice fang, crunch and focus blast. "Okay Floatzel show Electabuzz your new move focus blast" said Ash. Floatzel fired a focus blast, but Electabuzz used thunder punch to counter it. Electabuzz and Floatzel glared at each other.

Just then Paul called out to stop the battle, surprising everyone. "Hey what you stopping the battle for?" asked Ash. "Because there is no point with continuing this battle" answered Paul. Ash and Floatzel felt cross with that. Paul returned Electabuzz and left without even saying goodbye to the gang. "Paul is as rude as ever" said Tomo. "I can't believe he wanted to end the battle like that" said Dawn. "It's no good complaining about it now, because when we next meet and battle each other I'll show him no mercy" said Ash. Ash wasn't going to let Paul off that easy.
