"Attention potential crash victims," Chris' voice could be heard over the intercom as the plane began to shake and jerk in the air, throwing many people—including (Y/N)—off balance. "Please remain calm. Our autopilot is testing some equipment. Snacks in the common area if you don't believe me, and you want a last meal."

"Seriously, Chris?" (Y/N) grumbled under her breath, her brow twitching.

"Do you need some assistance, chica?" A voice to her left hummed, her head turning to see Alejandro standing over her with one hand pressed to the wall to keep him upright, and the other extended out to her for her to take. "It would be quite a tragedy if you were to fall again, for I don't wish to see you hurt—then again, I wouldn't mind it since I do very much love when you rely on me."

(Y/N) rolled her eyes, but took his hand.

    "What?" He smiled.

"You know, if you quit talking like that, maybe I will rely on you," she shrugged before letting go of his hand, much to his displeasure.

"What's wrong with it?" He hummed as he fell into step beside her. "Does it not make your heart race?"

    "No," she answered bluntly.

    His eyes curved.

Though (Y/N) continued to negate his advances, from the subtle glances she gave him and how warm her skin was when he took her hand, he realized that it wouldn't be long before she fell--fell, just as everyone did. Yet this time, the result would only be that much more satisfying since he himself knew that long ago, he had already been bewitched by (Y/N)'s charms. Then again, he wouldn't let himself admit that just yet, not when (Y/N) was so close to being wound around his finger as he wanted her to be.

(Y/N) ignored the way Alejandro's gaze burned into her.

    She had to.

Perhaps his actions towards her were fueled by infatuation as Noah had suggested, but she couldn't be too sure, especially with how easily and cruelly he disregarded Bridgette, LeShawna, and even Heather despite the clear interest they conveyed for him. If everything really were an act and she foolishly allowed herself to be swept up into his arms, she would only have herself to blame if she were ruthlessly abandoned like so many other Alejandro had used before. She wouldn't allow herself to crumble with such a fate.
