The sun had only risen an hour ago over Mystic Falls, however, Brooke had been awake long before then. After yesterday, with everything that happened with Jonas, and Matt, and the fire, she should have been exhausted, but she wasn't, because her mind was wide awake.

Beside her, Damon slept soundly, only letting small snores out of his mouth once in a while. She knew she could sneak out without him hearing, but her mind was torn.

Damon cared about her, and she cared about him, however, Brooke couldn't suppress the guilt rising in her throat. It took all of her willpower to slip on her black ripped jeans, and off the shoulder navy blue jumper, and even dressed she hesitated at the window.

However, with one final push, she jumped down to her lawn, and after waiting to hear any noise, she sped off into the treeline to take the slightly shorter route out to the Salvatore's. She didn't want to start her car in case the noise woke her boyfriend up, and she wanted to be able to run freely, which meant no public viewers around.

Luckily, by trees it was actually faster too, so she managed to get there easily.

Brooke paused by the front door to check for noise, and found none, so she slowly pushed open the front door, wincing as it creaked.

She sped downstairs to the basement first, and went to their fridge to grab two fresh blood bags, which she stashed in the shoulder bag she had brought with her. Then, she crept along the cement floors, checking each cellar, until she reached the very one with a sleeping original inside.

Brooke sighed. Waking Elijah was risky as hell, and he could very easily try to kill her for being apart of that dinner, but she saw no other option. Her friends were ridiculous for believing that they could take on the most dangerous being on the planet without help, and if Elijah knew him then that was something they could use. The Salvatores would never let Elena sacrifice herself, and Elena would do anything she could to protect her friends. So, if they had an original on their side, then maybe Stefan and Damon would be out of the way.

She felt bad going behind her boyfriend's back, but there was no other option right now, and if waking Elijah would save her friends' and family's lives, to hell with the consequences.

She pulled open the door, and then, with considerable effort she pulled his sleeping body over her shoulder and then after a deep breath she sped back out of the house, luckily not encountering anyone on the way.

The next place she went was deep into the woods, until she reached the Lockwood cellar. With Tyler not around, no one else would come looking or need it, so it was the perfect place to wake Elijah with no one else around.

She set his unconscious body down on the dirty surface and kneeled over him to pull the silver dagger out of his chest, and tuck it away into her bag.

Then, she sat down on the steps inside, and pulled one of the blood bags out of her bag and opened its top so that she could raise it to her lips and drink from it. It wasn't the same as fresh warm blood, but it sufficed.
