Brooke Forbes had lived in Mystic Falls her whole life, and had been the 'It Girl' of the town since she was young. Her life had been perfect in every way. Until, one accident lands her in physio rehabilitation and she is forced to leave town for mo...

Brooke had barely slept a wink all night as she continuously thought about the moment she and Klaus had shared on her front porch. His lips had been so close to hers that she could remember the faintest brush of them against hers and the memory made her burn to feel them properly this time.
However, she had not heard a word from him all night which made her think that Klaus had left town already.
At least that was what she hoped because the thought of running into Klaus again made her incredibly nervous.
Luckily she had a distraction in the form of cleaning up after the decade dance.
She and Caroline arrived at school early the morning after it and headed inside to help
"So I spoke to Tyler this morning" she said "Apparently he's bailing on clean up duty because he's busy helping Klaus pack up his house"
She cautiously glanced at her sister who appeared unfazed "Huh. Poor thing" was all she said back.
Caroline rolled her eyes at her sister's tight-lipped response. "Is that all you have to say about him leaving?"
"Yep" Brooke replied with a shrug.
"Sure" scoffed Caroline "Are you sure that your attitude has nothing to do with a certain almost-kiss you two had on the porch?"
Brooke glared at her "Did mom tell you?"
"She said that she opened the front door and saw the two of you on the verge of making out" grinned Caroline
"Well there was no verge of making out" replied Brooke "We had a moment, it passed and now he's leaving. What else is there to say?"
Caroline grabbed her sister by the arm "Stop lying! Why won't you ever just admit that you like him!"
"Because I..." she sighed "He's leaving, Care. Even if I did there would be no point"
She marched further on to the cafeteria and they pushed open the door, expecting to see at least a few more people but there was only one Rebekah. She was throwing decorations into a bin and glared at the two blondes when they arrived.
"Where's Matt?" asked Caroline
"He bailed. Got called into work at the last minute." she bit back.
Caroline scoffed "Are you kidding me? So, it's just us?"
Rebekah nodded "Yes, and you're late. Clean-up committee started at 8 o' clock."
"It's like 8:02." said Brooke
"Exactly." she snapped "I managed to turn up on time and I didn't even get to attend the dance that I organised."
Caroline frowned, "I'm sorry about your Mom. I mean, I know you like hated her and everything, but still I'm sorry."
