Mikael was in Mystic Falls. Klaus's father, the vampire hunter, who was their only shot at killing Klaus had come to Mystic Falls thanks to Damon and Katherine's elusive spying.
And now, with him in play and Klaus still out of town and unaware, they finally had a way to take Klaus down, and tonight's high school homecoming would be the perfect setting for it.
To do that, they needed to implement phase one. Which had Stefan, Damon, Rebekah, Elena, Mikael, and Brooke gathered in the Salvatore home to put their plan into motion.
Stefan had rung Klaus on speaker, and luckily the hybrid picked up. "Portland is fantastic once you can get over all the whiney music and healthy-looking people. It's literally a breeding ground for werewolves"
Stefan said simply, "Your father's dead"
Klaus paused. "What did you say to me?"
"Oh, my mistake. Not your actual father, and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?" asked Stefan
"Well, first, I want you to explain to me exactly what happened" growled Klaus
One hour earlier...
Stefan, Elena, Damon, and Brooke were in the Salvatore library, planning how to come up with a believable lie to tell Klaus.
"All right, we'll say that Mikael followed Elena in here. He tried to grab her so he could use her as bait" suggested Stefan
Elena frowned "And you, what, vervained him?"
Damon shook his head "No, we vervained him. The guy's an original. Make it realistic"
His brother scoffed "Ok. Fine. We vervained him and in the process discovered that he had a dagger"
"Which he planned to use on Rebekah. But instead..."
"We drove it through his heart" nodded Stefan
Brooke folded her arms "And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?"
Damon hummed "Good point. You, my brother, have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So if the idea is to lure him back here and kill him, the last thing we need is you getting tripped up and tongue tied"
Stefan held up his hands "Well don't look at me. I'm just in charge of getting him back here"
"Klaus is smart. If we tell him that Mikael's dead, he'll want proof" said Brooke
"Then I shall be dead" said Mikael as he entered the library.
Immediately all of them were uncomfortable in his presence. Mikael took a dagger and a vial of white oak ash from his jacket and placed it down on the side table.
