Part 18: Unexpected Encounter

"Dunk, why are you in a hurry to go home?" Louise, one of Dunk's friends from college asked one day when Dunk was hurrying as soon as he they finished lectures. It was still noon and Dunk had enough time to go home.

"I'm not going home. I'm going to my part time job." Dunk said stuffing his bag with his things and throwing it on his shoulder.

"Aren't you work there at weekends?"

"Not the cafe. I am taking care of a baby."  Dunk came out of the university with Louis. Du k heard a most unexpected voice calling his name.

"UNCLE DUNKDUNK!" Dunk turned around and searched for the source. Then he saw a small hand waving at him from a car.

"Who is that?" Louis asked curiously.

"That's Lego, the baby I'm taking care of. I'll see you later." Dunk bid good bye to Louis and headed to the car.  Louis looked at him dumb founded.

"Joong, why are you here?" Dunk asked as soon as he got on the car.

"We were going out for lunch. We thought we'll pick you up so we all can go to lunch together." Joong said staring the car.

"So where are we going?"

"Uncle Pond said there is a new Italian restaurant. We are going there." Lego said excitedly.

"oh, okay "

They reached the restaurant within 10 minutes. The whole ride was filled with Lego nonstop chattering about different topics. Both Joong and Dunk listened to him eagerly.

All three of them entered the restaurant. It was not crowded. So when they enter the restaurant everyone looked at them curiously.

"Thet are a cute family. Looks very lovely."

They heard some wishpered with each other. Dunk couldn't help but blush hearing it. Joong also heard it and he felt happy. But he managed to keep a straight face.

"What do you want?" Joong asked Dunk. Dunk was looking at the menu and he didn't recognise any of the dishes.

"I am not familiar with any of this Joong. You can order for me too." At the end Dunk let Joong to decide for himself. Joong noded and took the menu and ordered for all of them.

They were waiting for their food to arrive when Lego showed them an unexpected scene.

"Papa look, it's uncle Nine." Both Joong and Dunk looked at the direction Lego showed. They both were surprised to see Nine with Phoon. They were going to observe them more but Lego called to Nine.

"Uncle Nine."

Both Nine and Phoon looked surprised and terrified. Nevertheless they came to where Joong and Dunk were sitting.

"Joong? You are also here?" Nine said. He tried to look happy but Dunk could see the fear in his face.

"What are you doing with him?" Joong asked Nine glaring at Phoon.

"He... H-He is my business partner." Nine said. He didn't look at Joong when answering.

"Why you had to make a partnership with him?" Joong asked.

"It would be better if I could make a partnership with your company. But to be partnered with a big company like you we need a relationship more than a mere friendship Joong. Otherwise directors won't accept it." Nine as a matter of fact.

"Joong, I heard that you are considering remarriage. Why not marry Nine? You guys are already good friends." Phoon said. He stole a glance at Dunk.

Dunk was shocked hearing what Phoon said. And he felt a stabbing pain in his heart. He looked at Nine who was already looking at Joong to hear his answer. Then he looked at Joong. Joong was not looking at Nine. He was glaring at Phoon.

"You do not have to worry about my life. I can take care of them." Joong said sternly.

"Dunk, don't you think it's a good idea. And you can finally resign from this job." Phoon said putting his hand on Dunk's shoulder. Dunk flinched on his touch. He shrugged his shoulder to remove Phoon's hand but his gripped it more tightly.

Dunk mind suddenly went blank and he started to remember everything that Phoon did to him. His eyes filled with tears and started to flow down his face.

"Take your hand off of him." Dunk heard Joong's voice but it was too distant. Dunk didn't felt anything around him except Joong's voice until a little hand put on his hand.

Dunk looked at the owner and Lego was looking back at Dunk worriedly with his big round eyes.

"Dunk, let's go." Joong said putting some bills on the table. He took Lego and helped Dunk to stand up.

"I'm disappointed of you Nine." Joong said to Nine before he left the restaurant with Dunk and Lego.
