CAUTION: It's a LONG chapter and I'd suggest y'all read it in one go, so make sure you start it when you have the time to ;)
Winds blew and it made the only audible sound other than Eshant's breath.
He was all set to tear apart anyone who came through the bushes with great pleasure.
The noise of the running of horses became clearer with every passing moment and in a second they were into the open field surrounding the house, jumping out of the shabby bushes.
Eshant's glaring eyes, although, turned calmer at the sight of his own soldiers.
It was strange how so many of them came all the way here without any notice.
He jumped down of his horse, holding his sword.
A few soldiers jumped off as well.
Their faces screamed terror.
"What's the matter?"
He asked walking closer feeling his head heavy in still air now that the rain had finally stopped overhead.
"Ch-chote Chauhan..."
The first soldier who jumped off earlier spoke with a shaking voice.
"We found Balvinder's body in the abandoned fort near the temple"
He finished.
Balvinder was one of the two soldiers who were appointed by Eshant to toil around here.
Eshant's frown was extending across his face.
"Seth (here Rajveer) was worried you were attacked so he sent us"
He informs.
"Why did you not just ring the temple bell?"
He said in a frustrated voice.
A kill? Is this a war or one of those selfish games of Sultan Ahmed? Is it even Ahmed at all? His heart was knitting all these questions under his raged eyes.
"That would have made the enemies alarmed and townsmen tensed"
Reported another soldier.
Eshant knew he was not much of a think-and-do kind of person so he sincerely admired his soldier's wisdom.
He stepped forward to pat his back in appreciation when he felt a sharp pain striking from his spine to his head that prevented him from moving any further.
His eyes widened and in no more than a fraction of a second, he collapsed on the wet ground. His face badly bumped on the rocky ground forming a cut across his forehead.
The soldiers ran forward surrounding the prince who spoke no more.
The clouds roared over them again.
Kanha stepped forward and made noise.
Two soldiers picked up Eshant on a horse and all of them went down the hills abandoning the eastern hills and the girl who was no one's concern anymore.
The soldiers were astonished at the sudden health condition of the prince so they hurried as much as they could.
Rajveer on the other hand, handled situations there very well.
He told the soldiers to take the body to his family and let them know what happened but they were also asked to keep the reason for his death unknown or something that did not indicate his death as a threat to them.
