Shefali heard a mess of voices around her. After trying to ignore that for a long time, her eyes finally opened slowly.

She looked around her without moving her head at all.

She groaned while she tried to turn her head properly to the side.

Shefali was clueless at the site of a few maids walking around her. The room she faced was not familiar as well.

She remembered the night in a blink.

Her gaze turned to her waist and her hand traced the region that was under some herbal ointment. She gasped as soon as she touched it.

"How do you feel, girl?"

She was shocked at the sudden intruder.

Her glance landed on an old lady who stood near the bed.

Shefali tried to sit up but failed immediately when the pain sprang up.

"No dont!"

She came ahead and gently made her lay back.

"Where... where am I?"

Shefali asked looking at the woman in a muffled voice.

"Nowhere near danger"

Aai smiled brushing Shefali's hair off her forehead softly.

She pressed her hand on her forehead.

"You still have a slightly mild fever"

Aai informed walking back to the table in the corner.

Shefali could remember that one time she woke up slightly while she felt a tinge of pain on her lower waist, she knew she was being carried away somewhere.

Her foggy eyes could not see her beholder back then.

She went back to sleep soon after.

She did not remember anything after that.

Shefali looked at the ceiling cluelessly thinking of everything that had been happening for so long.

Her head pained when everything painful reached her vision and then suddenly his face made its way to her.

She remembered how he came to her rescue that night when she thought everything was coming to an end while she sat in the palki, tied up, unable to move.

"Inform Chote Chauhan that she is awake"

Shefali heard Aai instruct a maid who happened to pass by.

"You have been unconscious for three days, girl"

Aai said grinding a paste.

"Thank you"

Shefali muttered.

"What?"

Aai looked up at Shefali.

"Thank you for treating me"

Shefali repeated.

Aai's face was a mix of shock and gratitude. After all, it was not every day someone thanked her for just doing her duty.

"Get well soon"

Aai smiled at her and walked outside.

Shefali felt helpless, unable to move properly.

She looked around the room and there was no one.

Her glance went to the open door and the constant movement of maids and soldiers.
