Over a week ago, Shefali was shifted to a different room away from the palace. They say no man is allowed in that premise. This is the premise of the palace which is open only when a woman is near her delivery.

Shefali had not seen Eshant for a week. He did try to sneak in once but Aai had caught him pretty quickly. The warrior prince is not that good in hiding it seemed.

Rani-sa was not allowed to visit her since she was a widow now and so was Bindiya.

Aai, although, stayed with her most of the time of the day.

Ekta's frequent disappearance concerned Shefali at times. Aai would give excuses that she knew very well Shefali would not buy.

Shefali's back hurt more often now and turning to a side while asleep was no better than a nightmare.

Shefali groaned sitting up.

"Aai?"

She called but there was no response.

Although Aai was appointed to take care of Shefali here, she had to go off to the main palace to see if the young generation was responsible enough to carry out all the duties without a supervisor. To her dismay, they were not.

"Ufff-"

Shefali sighed getting up on her feet.

The weight of her body seemed unbearable to her shivering legs.

She somehow walked over to the table to take the Pot of water.

She faced pre-delivery fake contractions of her uterus twice in the last two weeks. They were terrific to Shefali.

Rani-sa decided to take her to this premise full of experienced women who can take care of Shefali for the whole day without worrying about her sudden contractions anymore.

Mentally, Shefali was not ready yet but there was a part in her that wanted to let the child free already. She wanted to touch the soul, feel him outside of the skin of her stomach.

"Come out already..."

She whispered lovingly fondling her bulge before treating her throat with water.

Her head turned towards the door quite automatically when a loud shout was heard.

There was an instant arousal of a frown on her face.

She considered not walking out in this condition but could not help herself after another such noise broke in.

"What is it again?"

Shefali tried to contain her anxiety.

She walked out of the door with slow steps. She stepped into the open courtyard from where the inner palace was barely visible in the fierce sunrays of the afternoon sun.

She squinted her eyes to gather what was happening there.

"Don't touch her!"

Cried Ekta, her voice breaking with the intensity.

Shefali's senses strengthened at the familiar voice.

"Shefali? What are you doing here?"

Aai ran up to her from the kitchen beside the compartment.

"What is happening there?"

Shefali entirely ignored Aai's question.

"The usual"

Aai said sounding pretty defeated herself.

"What do you mean by the usual?"

Shefali asked, turning back at the scene.
