This night was surprisingly quieter. Everything was in place and no sounds echoed in the dense grasslands.
Eshant mostly spent the night circling the house keeping a huge distance so that he does not wake Shefali up.
He does not want her to find out this place is not safe and certainly not that he was sleeplessly spending the night, guarding her. He did not stress himself to know why did he not want that. He simply did not, so he did not emphasize.
When the sun rose in the sky, Eshant's sigh of relief made its way out of his dry thirsty lips.
He rubbed the neck of Kanha, praising him for his hard work for two consecutive nights.
A new concern had produced itself in his mind.
Have the enemies synced into the territory already? Or have they moved to the other side of the border? He sharply enquired in himself.
A little coarse sound came from the way of the house and he hid behind the dense trees on the side while signaling his four subordinates to hide as well.
The wooden door slightly opened and a little curious face peeped outside.
He looked at Shefali's face which was so pale and tired. His heart sank and he had already decided that he was going to bring her back after having a word with Abhilasha by today.
Shefali walked outside and looked around.
Although Barkha had instructed her not to bathe, Shefali was not going to listen to that restriction. After all, no one was there who would know she took a bath anyway.
She tried to concentrate on the sound of the water earnestly trying to find the source.
She had been plotting to find the waterfall there since yesterday and now she could finally look around.
She felt a lot better after resting the whole night. Her stomach growled in hunger but she ignored it while she walked towards the back of the house. If her ears still worked efficiently, the sound was coming from somewhere behind the walls of the house.
"Retreat"
Eshant ordered as soon as her figure disappeared behind the house.
The soldiers did as their master asked them to.
Eshant's horse walked a few steps towards the house on his own. He quickly pulled the rope to make the horse stop.
Eshant's eyes touched the sight of the house once before he made his horse run down the hill towards the Palace far away.
"I want two trusted men guarding the house there for the whole day"
He declared surpassing all other soldiers, striding on their horses on his way.
Shefali walked for a minute or so when she finally found the beautiful waterfall and the little lake it had formed around it.
She carefully traced the little way its water had made from the side which eventually, she thought, flowed into the stream of the ghat downhill.
There were several rocks leading down to the lake that had formed around the waterfall.
She hesitated and slowly stepped on the top rock, bent down on it with a tight grip, and stepped on the one below it. Mosses and leaches had grown on it, wearing down a part of it on the side.
Shefali slowly walked down stepping on each rock carefully until her bare foot touched the moist ground.
She looked around and found many shrubs, rocks, a few dead plants, and a lot of shade around this area. It was so quiet here, so enchanting...
