Ekta pushed past the crowd on her way back to the palace that danced on the way while Drucilla sat in her palki, going to her new house.

All the colors that were swung in the air while they danced, touched her face and she felt disgusted, sickened.

She was so mad at people here.

Shefali had no reason to be sent away... she thought.

Her fist tightened.

It would have been a different issue if her brother had come here to take her back. Then she would have been given a choice to choose from... She confronted herself.

"Ekta, where have you been?"

Rani-sa asked holding her arm gently through the crowd.

"I was... I was out talking to Shefali"

She said, blankly staring ahead.

"Where is she?"

Rani-sa asked looking out.

"She left"

Ekta said and walked away from her grip.

She hated how she had to smile at the people while the dryness of her cheeks was still making their presence very evident.

The royal family followed the palki outside.

Ekta did not wait to see how much farther they were accompanying her. She had no such interest.

Instead, she slowly walked towards the kitchen, her head lowered.

The kitchen was a mess of noises.

Aai sat near the peeled vegetables, picking the best ones from the bunch.

"Aai,"

Ekta's voice cracked.

"Ekta? Did you find her?"

Aai responded immediately with hope in her worn-out voice.

Ekta abruptly sat beside Aai making eyes turn.

"Yes"

She said.

Aai's wrinkled face filled up with a ray of smile.

"Where is she? Shefali..."

Aai looked out stretching her head towards the open door of the kitchen probably thinking Shefali was hiding behind the wall.

"She is not here, Aai. She won't be back either"

Ekta said holding Aai's arm gently.

Aai frowned.

"What do you mean? Is she alright? Where is she?"

Aai asked impatiently.

Tara sat behind Aai and held her shoulders firmly with equal curiosity.

"Shefali's brother was here"

Ekta said showcasing half the truth.

Aai could not decide to smile or to frown.

"Her brother?"

She asked.

Ekta nodded.

"He took her back"

Ekta said, trying to smile.

"He came here and Shefali went back with him? Shefali wouldn't leave without telling me"

Aai said with a sure expression.

"She did... She asked me to tell you that she will miss you and probably, someday she will be back to meet you"
