Eshant was in his room gazing at the stars, trying to find a known pattern.

Due to some trouble, he could not find the pattern of stars he usually did and it made him frustrated.

It was just an excuse.

Eshant knew he was frustrated with the king's decision to sit and talk to the Mughal Sultan between the border of the two nations.

Enemies don't sit and talk, especially if one of them is not fair to principles... Eshant thought.

Usually, his family had a rule to always dine together but ever since Rana's attack he cannot walk down to the dining room thus the other members don't make an effort to dine together as well.

He has never been close to any of his family members leaving his little sister, Ekta.

Ekta has been the only one who gave him the love and affection he had always starved for but his duty as a son comes first so he had to loosen their bond.

He sometimes sits and thinks if Ekta looks at him the same way he looks at his Baba.

When he thinks cautiously he does not find much difference in him and his baba in respect to what he did to Ekta. Rana gave away their relationship and so did Eshant.

He gulped the remaining ladoo in one go.

He had his dinner alone.

He does not miss eating with everyone else, or so he reminds himself.

"Chote Chauha, may I come in?"

Asked a soldier with a red pouch in his hand.

"Yes"

Eshant stood up and watered his hands in a pot with the jug.

"The goldsmith asked to hand it over to you"

The soldier informed obediently.

Eshant's hand reached his forehead and a sigh left his lips.

"I had completely forgotten about it"

He confronted himself.

"Thank you"

He muttered and took the pouch from his hand.

The soldier walked out with a smile feeling good to hear a term of gratitude from their beloved Chote Chauhan.

Eshant waited till the guard was completely out of sight.

Slowly he untied the pouch and pulled out the dazzling golden chain he had ordered a few days ago.

He traced its length with his fingertip.

It was denser, prettier and finer.

"I hope she likes it"

He whispered in his breath.

Shefali had been busy with chores the whole day.

She had recently realized that she enjoyed cooking and doing everything that concerned it. She spent a lot of time in the huge kitchen of the palace today.

Rani-sa walked into the kitchen a few times in the morning to supervise and was partly shocked at Shefali's sight but for some reason, she did not question her as Ekta did earlier in the courtyard.

To Shefali, Rani-sa was a quiet character whose eyes were blunt under the veil but she could not ignore her proficiency towards her duties even if that meant tackling someone or something she would not otherwise.
