Bad Omens-Impose

Belladonna Blackstone walks into the library with a little necklace that has a red ruby gemstone in the shape of a star. It's not flashy and easy to conceal. The moment she places the gem in my hand, I feel the immense power it's blessed with.

The magic in the stone reacts to my magic fondly. As if two old friends were meeting again for the first time in a very long time. I smile, closing my hand over the gem and looking up at Noah. This is a family heirloom. One that was lost three generations ago. It's meant for exactly what they're using it for.

"That was pretty," B.B. says. Her yellow eyes sparkle at the sight of my magic.

"You're familiar with this?" Noah asks.

"Yes," I say, taking it over to him so that I can put it around his neck. "It was created by a storm. It's why my magic reacted to it. Like to two old friends meeting again. This should help you get it under control. It's designed to lock the excess magic until your body is ready for more."

I see him visibly gasp for air the moment the clasp shuts. The bright white shades in his eyes dim significantly, and a little more color drains into his skin. I place my hand on his face apologetically.

"That's better," he sighs.

"I'm sorry. I know the storm can be a lot," I agree.

"Why did he change colors?" Anthony Daniels asks. "You didn't."

"My body is in good condition to channel the amount of magic I have at the moment. He's never had to carry the weight of his and I never allowed him access to mine until now. The gem is granting him the amount of power he can withstand."

"How is Ben doing?" B.B. asks. Noah rolls his eyes and takes a step back.

"He's not in great shape. I gave him the full amount of healing medication a mortal his size can handle. It should help with the surgeries he's undergoing. I don't think he would have survived without it."

"We can't have that stupid fuck dying," Lucien Daniels walks into the room with Victor Escobar and Rodrigo Jimenez following behind him.

I look back at Noah, who looks up at the aura of feathers they emanate when together. I can tell it intrigues him beyond how beautiful it is. I clear my throat when Dante comes over to us and looks up in the direction Noah is looking, and squints.

"It's an elemental thing," I inform him. "We can see the shapes inside auras. Alone, someone shines the colors of their deepest desires. But when you have more than one omen like them together, what they are becomes obvious. Especially with their master present. Want to see?"

"Yes," he says without hesitation.

I smile and hold my hand out. He takes it and the instant his skin meets mine I feel him syphon my magic. I gasp, feeling goosebumps rise all over my skin. The storm reacts to the darkness inside of him greedily. I try to pull it back, but the cheeky bitch wants nothing more than to let go inside of him. It's him who releases me and stumbles away.

"Holy shit," I say, placing my hand over my chest.

He stares back at me before a grin spreads across his face. The storm has triggered his transformation. His eyes turn predatory, his grin broadening into the snake he is. His aura screams like a banshee wanting more of the power I just hit him with.

"What. the. fuck. was. that?" he shivers.

"Your darkness has no end," I step towards him. He steps back, crossing his arms over his chest to prevent me from touching him again. "I'm sorry. That was not very nice of me. I didn't think we would react to one another that way. Your aura is sticky on the outside, but boundless on the inside. How did you do that? How did you become black death?"
