"What? Dad, when did you find this out? What type of cancer is this... and," I hesitate before I ask the question that was definitely going to bring tears to my eyes, " How long do you have, before... You know?"

"Before I die? Junior, it's okay... I've come to terms with what's happening and I probably should've told you sooner, but nobody's perfect. Can we just enjoy today, and talk about all of this later?", Senior says as he walks over to a chair in the Dinozzo living room.

"Ok Dad, but let me call Gibbs first.", I press the speed dial button and Gibbs picks up on the first ring.

"Where the hell are you two? We have a case, and it's personal", Gibbs says sharp and fast. I can tell he's obviously irritated with us, but what does he mean that it's personal....

" Boss, what is it? More importantly, who is it?", I say, as I get more curious with every second.

"Tony, this isn't something to say over the phone. One of ours is DEAD. Now what did you have to say?", Gibbs is hurt and blaming himself like always. He beats himself up when someone from the NCIS family is the victim.

I try to think of a way to tell him that we both won't be coming in for work today, and then I decide that it'd be best if I just came right out and said it.

"Boss, Ziva and I plan on taking today and maybe tomorrow off to spend sometime with my dad.", I walk into the other room to make this conversation more private, " He's sick... Really sick. It's cancer, and he came here to spend time with the family. I promise it'll only be for two days at the most, but Boss he needs me. I think this time, might be the last time....", I can't even bring myself to say those words. Tears start streaming down my face and I make that ugly crying noise.

" Dinozzo, I know how you feel. I lost my Dad not too long ago, so just take all the time you need. We'll be here for you if you need us. Keep me updated." Gibbs says, cutting off my tears.

" Will do Boss. Bye!" I say as I hang up and get back into the living room. Then, there's a knock a the door and I open it. The babysitter finally showed up.
