✨ LISSA'S POV ✨
I stood up instantly. The sun had set, which meant I didn't had much time to save Cameron.
"You got your answer?" The siren asked.
She sat at the same place as before. She sat at the same place in the vision but the place has somehow evolved, changed than what it was in the past.
"Yes."
"What will you do now?"
"I'll take the ring and save my friend."
She nodded.
"What about me? Aren't you going to kill me?"
"Kill you! Why?"
"Don't you see what I have done? I killed so many creatures. I took this curse upon myself just so I could live without doing anything."
"You were in a bad place. You were..."
"No. My only responsibility was to safeguard the ring and it's powers. The witch promised me that I'll be free of the curse once I complete the job."
"Then we will wait for the witch and she will break the curse."
"There is no breaking of the curse. Death is the ultimate freedom."
"You can't believe it."
"I do. Here, take this and accept the power." She thrusted the ring into my hand.
A recognisable power emitted from the ring. I slowly inserted the ring into my finger and waited.
"Umm... nothing is..."
The power hit me like a tsunami and I drowned in it. It was like slowly falling asleep but not in a good way. Like you knew you would not wake up again and wanting to dream one more time. Like fighting against time, against fate.
"Let it in. Let it fill you. Accept it. Master it."
'You can do it. You have to do it. Breath slowly and keep breathing.'
"He...help..me.." I whispered.
The witch looked down at me, eyes filled with sorrow.
"I can't. Only you can."
And then for the third time in a day, I blacked out.
