King's POV

Me and my big fucken mouth. I was pissed at myself. I don't know where those words came from, but I lashed out at Leo like some child. But to blame him for..., that..., I was fucken disgusting. As soon as they left my mouth, I was shocked.

Hearing the bathroom door across the hall slam shut, I walked into the living room. Uncle Ben gave me a nasty look, no doubt hearing what I yelled at Leo.

"That was uncalled for," he said in a hushed but harsh tone that cut me down more than I already felt.

I ignored him, walking into the kitchen to get a water bottle out of the fridge. I wasn't even thirsty. I just needed something in my hand—a reason to pace the floor.

"Get me a fight tonight. Don't bet for me to win because I'm just getting to let them smash me into the ground."

"No," Uncle Ben hissed, making me freeze. "You can sit in this one. What the fuck is wrong with you?" He shot up, making his chair roll halfway across the living room floor. "You know who you just sounded like in there?" He didn't give me time to react before he threw the punching words. "Your mother."

I felt my body go numb. Never had two words cut into me so deep it took my breath away. I couldn't form words as I took a few steps back while he stumped closer.

The sound of glass shattering filled my ears, and for a moment, I thought it was my soul, but seeing my uncle jump and turn at the sound alerted me it wasn't.

I pushed passed him and ran to the bathroom before he had time to move. "Leo!" I yelled outside the door as I grabbed the handle. It was locked. "Leo. Open the door. Are you okay?" I didn't give him time to answer as I pushed into the door.

"What the fuck are you waiting for?" Uncle Ben yelled behind me.

I threw my shoulder into the door as hard as I could, making it fly open, and all I saw was blood covering Leo's hand. As soon as I saw the glass held to his wrist, I rushed him.

I felt the life drain from my body as I grabbed his arms, pulled them apart, and pinned him against the sink, hearing glass break over the medal faucet. "What the fuck are you doing?" Hot tears fell from my eyes as my voice creaked.

Leo's dull eyes looked at me as I watched something come back. Water began filling them as I squeezed his bloody wrist, too scared to let go, too afraid to look as I could feel the blood begin to soak my hand.

"I- I..., I didn't," he said, shaking his head as a sob left him.

If I didn't think I could be broken anymore, I was sure as fuck wrong because I couldn't hold it together anymore.

"I'm sorry." Leo's voice was trembling as Uncle Ben ran to the bloody hand and yelled for me to let go for him to wrap it.

I shook my head, letting my emotions get the best of me, looking over to see blood on my hand, but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. I waited for my uncle to be ready before letting go and hoping he would work fast, but he only stood there. Leo pulled his hand into his chest before I saw the blood coming from his knuckles and fingers instead of where I thought it was coming from.

"I... I didn't." Leo repeated once more, eyes going from me and Uncle Ben.

I exhaled a breath I knew I'd been holding and slammed into Leo, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and making him crash into my chest. "Don't ever do that again, Leo. I love you so much. Please don't leave me like that. I'm so fucken sorry. I didn't mean what I said. I swear to whatever god is out there that I didn't mean it."

I began sobbing into the crease of his neck, tightening my grip as my fingers grabbed his shirt. Feeling one of his hands on my back grounded me. What would I have done if he... How would I be able to live without him?
