King's POV

Blood Trigger Warning! Mature Chapter!

"LEO!" I screamed, watching Leo fall. Blood began pooling around him, and I tried like hell to break free of the guys holding me. I didn't care if they had their guns to the back of my head. I needed to get to Leo. I needed to get him help.

"Three strikes and he's out!" Rex started laughing. This twisted fuck thought this was funny?

"I'll fucken kill you!" I threw one of the guys over my shoulder as I started to break free, but the other one was on top of me. "Let me go! Leo!" I need him. This isn't happening!

"Take him with us, boys. Our work here is gone. Now, we can use him as bait to get that fucker Benji out of his hole like the boss man wants. Maybe I'll gouge his eyes out in front of you this time, King. How does that sound? Killing your boyfriend wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be, but seeing your face right now does make it a little better."

A loud bang came from behind me, making me flinch. The guy holding me loosened his grip, and I lunged away from him, grabbing my gun. I turned and shot him in the face as he jumped for me. All I cared about was getting to Leo. He couldn't be dead. Not now. Not like this!

More gunfire came from behind me, but I only saw Leo. His eyes were closed, and his cheeks looked pale. I got to my feet, but something hit my head, and I fell again. Looking over my shoulder, Rex's gun shoved into my face.

"Like hell you're getting away now," he growled through his teeth. Behind him, I catch two people shooting at something and cut my eyes over to see Dom's blue junker smashed into the van and the front doors opened.

One hand grabbed the handle on my gun while my free hand smacked Rex's gun away from my face. "Fuck you!" I pulled the trigger on mine three, maybe four times as it pressed against him somewhere on the side

His eyes widened, but I shoved him off and raced to Leo without looking back. Blood was running down the pavement toward the road now, and my heart was in my throat as I scooped Leo's body against my chest, tears running down my face. "Leo. Leo. Baby, please. Open your eyes for me." My forehead dropped to his. It felt cold. I pressed my hand against his throat, trying to find a pulse, but as I pulled my hand back, it was covered in hot red liquid. I was trembling too much as I leaned back, fishing for my phone, but blood smeared across the screen. "Leo. Don't leave me. Please. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Please stay with me. I'm gonna get help."

My voice creaked as I rocked his body against mine, holding him tightly like it would keep his soul from leaving. After wiping some of the blood on my pants, I dialed the emergency number and heard it ringing. Suddenly, hands pressed into Leo's chest, making me look up. Uncle Ben was saying something, but I couldn't hear anything. This had to be a dream. This couldn't really be happening.

The phone was ripped from my hand, and someone else started talking, but I couldn't focus as I looked down at Leo's body. Uncle Ben grabbed my hand and pressed it hard into Leo's stomach. "Hold it there... the bleeding... right there... on the way..." was all I heard.

It all happened so fast. The world was moving around me in a blur. I didn't know who was who or what was what. This morning, we were teasing each other about his warm blanket cacoon, and now his blood was staining my hands. How did this happen? How did we get here?

"I can't do this!" I yelled, my throat sore, my eyes burning as I looked at Uncle Ben, whose cheeks were stained in tears. "I can't lose him," I whispered, pleading with him, begging to whatever god was out there not to take him from me. We never should have left that hotel room or come back, thinking everything would be okay.

There was a scream as the sirens grew closer. Looking up, I found a group of people watching us, just standing there in shock, some in cars, and I noticed the white van Rex's guys jumped out of was gone, and so was he. In the crowd, Kiki appeared, her face pile as she stood there like a statue. Our eyes met, and it was like a restart button as tears rolled down her cheeks. She yelled for everyone to move back as an ambulance and cop cars began pulling up.

Uncle Ben pulled back, hands raised and full of blood as the PMTs raced over, quickly getting to work, but I couldn't move, too scared I would never see Leo again if I let go, but arms began pulling me back.

"No. Let me go. I need to go with him. Please, you can't do this. Leo! Please. Let go!" I yelled, trying to fight them off. I didn't know who or cared to know who was holding me. I couldn't leave Leo alone, not like this.

"King. King!" Kiki pushed my chest, trying to help hold me back as they loaded Leo on the stretcher. "Calm down. I have my car, we will meet them there. They need to help Leo without you in the way. Let them do their job. I know it's killing you right now, but we..." Her voice cracked as she looked at them. "We need to let them go."

I crumbled in her arms. "What the fuck?" I sobbed, watching them put Leo in the back of the truck.
