Don't Leave Me

Chapter 18

"Scott, you have to do it. Just tell him and get it over with!"

Scott was sitting on the couch in their living room talking on the phone with Kirstie. They had all just got back from a rehearsal and Mitch was on his way to Jake's apartment to hang out for a bit.

Scott quickly ran a hand through his hair. "Kirstie, I don't know. I feel...trapped. If I do tell him, I could lose him. He would never forgive me. But If I don't, then I can't call a demonologist to get this thing out of here...and I could still lose Mitch." He said the last part quietly. He hated saying those words.

Kirstie groaned loud into the phone. "Okay, Scott. I'm going to give you some advice. Ready?"

"What is it?"

"Women up!"

Scott chuckled a little. "Kirst, it's not that easy."

"Yes it is, dumbie! You technically had a good reason to do what you did. You wanted to know what this thing wanted..and you did. You're just doing your part to get rid of it. And the reason you did it is because you care about Mitch, right?"

Scott sighed. "Of course."

She spoke softer. "Then he will understand," she said slowly. "I know Mitch, and he loves you too much to get mad over this and to never forgive you."

"Yeah, you're right."

"And you better do it fast before this thing gets any worse and something else happens to Mitch or yourself."

Scott looked down at his feet. "I understand."

"Good. Well, I love you, but I'm sorry I have to cut this short. Jeremy and I are going out."

"Okay. Thank you, Kirstie. Talk to you later. See ya."

"Bye, Scott."

Scott hung up the phone and set it on the coffee table before he sat back on the couch and thought to himself.

I have to tell him before this thing does anything else to my Mitch.

I have to tell him tonight.
