Scott was still in disbelief. He looked and Mitch, and tried to choke back the words that he wasn't sure he wanted to hear the answer too.

"Mitch...it had to have been you. Who else would I have heard whisper something right next to me?"

Mitch stayed silent. He looked down at his feet trying to conjure up an explanation that didn't sound insane. "Maybe..." He sighed. "Scott I don't know. But this is freaking me out."

"What's freaking you out?"

"You're going to try and tell me that you are not the slightest bit scared right now?" Mitch was now looking at Scott, his eyes filled with worry.

Scott tried to stay calm. He knew Mitch depended on him, that he felt safe around him. He didn't want Mitch to feel like he couldn't protect him anymore. He tried to keep it cool.

"Okay, I understand that some weird...strange things have been happening but I think that we are letting it all go to our heads. The only things that have been happening is simple knocks on windows and walls-"

"Which isn't normal for a new house." Mitch interrupted.

Scott closed his eyes for a bit and opened them back up.
"But it could have been anything. It's an apartment, Mitch. There's people living under us and on top of us-"

"Yeah, but-"

"I just don't want you to worry. Everything is okay. And I am always here to protect you."

That brought a slight smile to Mitch's face. It was nice knowing someone always had his back.

Scott slowly leaned in and kissed Mitch softly on his lips. He backed away only leaving and inch from their faces. He rested his forehead against Mitch's, both of them closing their eyes and enjoying the moment.

After a moment, Scott stood up from the couch and held out a hand to help Mitch up.
"So, should we get started on breakfast?"

Mitch made a loud yawn, stretching his arms over his head.
"I don't know... I'm actually pretty tired from the lack of sleep last night. I think I might go back to bed and rest my eyes for a minute. Can you bring me back Starbucks or something?"

Scott smiled sweetly, looking down at the handsome tired man.
"Sure. You look exhausted." He said before a chuckle.

Mitch finally took Scott's offering hand and stood up. He stood on his toes and kissed Scott on the cheek before walking to the bedroom and closing the door.

Scott walked to the kitchen and turned off the oven that he had just heated up before. He went to the front door and took a hoodie off of the coat rack, putting it on over his bare body, along with the black basketball shorts that he was already wearing from that night. Along with slipping on his combat boots. He then left, and locked the door on his way out.

Mitch fell asleep quickly after he had heard Scott close the door on his way out.

He was under the covers and blankets that were pulled all the way up to his chin. Sleep is just what he needed.

*****9 Minutes Later*****

Mitch heard something that had woken him up. He wasn't sure what. He slowly opened his eyes, eventually having them tiredly close again.
He heard what sounded like footsteps in the hallway outside of the bedroom door.

He mumbled too himself. "Is Scott home already?"

He looked over at the alarm clock that was set on the nightstand table on his side of the bed.
