Scott fell silent, not knowing what to say. Mitch decided to take the opportunity to finish his thought.

He took a breath and wiped off another tear.
"I want you to believe me." He said again.
"Yes..I know houses make noises. And yes, I know that this doesn't have to be paranormal. I know it doesn't mean that. But Scott... I just have a really bad feeling."

Scott looked at him attentively.

Mitch looked at him and the room went quiet.

"Well....do you believe me?...."

The room went quiet again. Scott didn't realize how Mitch had felt. He never did.

He thinks I see him as a weakling? A scaredy cat? I don't believe it.... I never meant to make him feel like that.. That wasn't my intention... I feel horrible...

He felt as if he couldn't put everything he was thinking into words. His heart wanted to express it. The tears he saw falling down Mitch's already tear-stained cheeks were like a punch in the chest to him. Especially knowing he had part in it. His heart made up it's mind. On impulse, he moved his hand that had rested on Mitch's back, up to the back of his neck. He slowly leaned in, closed his eyes, and pressed his soft lips against Mitch's. The emotions that flowed through them to each other was unlike any other.
Scott pulled away inches from Mitch's face, looking into his brown eyes.

"Mitch..I'm so sorry....I never meant to make you feel that way.. I believe you, and I'll always listen."

Mitch looked at him and made a cute smile. "Just shut up and kiss me."

Scott smiled and kissed him again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

*****later that day, 9:00 pm*****

The PTX family decided to go out for dinner that night at a Mexican restaurant. They all sat in at a big booth that circled around the table. Scott and Mitch of course sat by each other, leaving no space between them. Kirstie sat by Mitch, Avi sat by Scott, and Kevin by Avi.

The waitress soon came by to get their drink orders.

"Hi, my name is Claudia, and I'll be your waitress this evening. May I start you off with some drinks?"
She looked at Kirstie first.

"I'll have a water, please."

She looked at Mitch.
"Water."

"Dr. Pepper." Said Scott. He looked at Avi.

"Coke, please."

"And I'll have an iced tea." Kevin smiled.

The waitress nodded and left to get their drinks.

Avi looked at Scott, nudging him in the shoulder.
"So I hear your apartment is haunted." He smiled and laughed jokingly.

Kirstie pointed a finger at Scott and Mitch. "I told you so!"

Mitch put up his hands in front of him, as if he was trying to pause everything.
"But really, you guys. It's gotten serious." He looked at Kirstie and whispered where only she could hear. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you, by the way... About the knock on the door."
She smiled at him sweetly.

Kevin rested his elbows on the table and sat at the edge of his seat. "What do you mean? What's been happening?" He looked back and forth between Scott and Mitch, waiting for an answer.

"Well..." Mitch started. He started to intertwine his fingers into Scott's under the table. It gave him the creeps talking about this all over again. "I had texted Kirstie to help me pull a prank on Scott. You know, like just for fun."
The waitress then interrupted his story, passing out their drinks. "I'll be right back to take your order." She said with a smile and left. Mitch got back to his story. "So I wanted her to pretend to be a ghost and to do a bunch of weird and scary stuff. So we started to hear weird noises, banging on our bedroom door, and even the lights went out for no reason. But, at the time we thought it was all Kirstie. Then I got the call from Kirst saying that she couldn't make it because of the flat tire."
