[THIRD PERSON POV]

Mash had briefly looked over at the strawberry blonde once he heard coughing, eyes flickering with surprise at the swift movements of the younger boy as he manages to land next to Kat with ease. The two share a quick conversation, the expression on Kat's face showing surprise and distress at the words the blonde boy seems to share, a sense of curiosity filling Mash until his thoughts get cut off by the enemy in front of him speaking,

"You're the first to break through my epidermis...that's what I get for letting my guard down." Mash's face flickers with brief surprise at seeing the rock-like barrier breaking off the male's face. "What magic do you use?" The question is sudden, Mash letting out an inquisitive noise of surprise at the inquiry, the male in front of him repeating the question, "What do you call your personal magic?"

Mash stammers at the question, answering slowly to the boy, "Uh...Um...Power?" The blonde double-liner in front of him stares blankly at the boy, his expression unreadable despite the slightest disappointment hidden in his eyes as he speaks, "So you refuse to answer me...whatever." The male sighs as he swiftly pulls out an intricately made mirror, Dot shouting from his spot nearby, "What the-?! That's...the spell-flection mirror!

"A powerful magical item that reflects and and every spell cast it's way! The stronger the spell, the more fearsome the mirror makes it! It's one of the most powerful and feared magical items in the world...I thought the Bureau of Magic was guarding it. So why...?" His words went on a rambling tangent, his hands clenched into fists as he spoke, soon shouting out words of warning to his fellow first-year, "Mash, don't! We magic users don't stand a chance against that thing! It'll send your spells right back at you...! One mistake and you're as good as dead!"

His thoughts continue off his last statement, his eyes filled with worry, 'Probably can't be done, but our only hope to beat it is without magic...' The blonde enemy chuckles darkly once more, eyeing the black haired male carefully as he speaks, "You just had to get in my way. Now you all get to suffer." His words were followed by a swift kick slamming right into the mirror, shattering the object and slamming his foot into the man's face.

Kat lets out a small sigh from where she was, holding Gazzy close as they both watch the last battle before them, a small airy chuckle slipping past her lips at the expressions of surprise going across her friends faces, their voices all meshing together in shouts of shock,

"Wawawawawawawawa! | You mean...none of that was magic?! He did it with his body alone?! | That would be unbelievable...totally unbelievable, right?! | That would be something out of a fantasy story...like exactly like a fantasy story!" Even Abel chimed in at the sight, his expression shocked as he eyes the situation before him, "That sounds like a fantasy story."

"He really is...like a fantasy story." Kat mummers softly, expression showing a sense of fondness surprising to the child clinging onto her. Her eyes narrow, however, once she notices the male shrugging off the attack, a look of irritated intrigue in his eyes as Dot shouts out in his own irritation, "What?! That didn't do it?!"

The blonde remains silent as his hand twitches and tingles, his eyes moving downward to see a symbol forming on the back of his hand, the sight of it making his head reel as his thoughts connect the dots, 'So, that appeared when the kid touched me, did it? That explains the headache...it's him.'

The space behind the male contorts slightly, the male speaking up as large skeletal like hands appear from the rift appearing, his voice amused, "Today was surprisingly productive...thanks to meeting you. My name is...Cell War. I have an errand to run and must be going, but we'll be seeing each other again soon. You can keep the two things and little birdies with you here for now, bye-bye."

"Well, good on you for going home...could've done it sooner." Mash's tone was blunt as he spoke, his gaze moving back towards Kat and her brother briefly before turning fully to head towards Abyss, his next sentence coming out quickly, "Now...I've got to get Mask Guy to the infirmary." A voice breaks through his determined concentration, Abel stepping forward holding the handkerchief while one of his dolls carries Abyss in it's hands, the boy speaking,

"There's no hurry. Your handkerchief proved useful there, he'll be alright for the moment. I'll take Abyss the rest of the way back, you should go have a talk with Kat... Thank you, Mash Burnedead, I will return the favour." Abel's words make the boy nod, his voice coming out in a mutter, "Guess we did it then."

He turns to head towards Kat and Gazzy, the two looking up at him slowly as he approaches, the blonde boy shakily standing up to guard his sister from the approaching individual. "It's okay, Gazzy...he won't hurt me." Her voice was soothing to Mash's ears, the boy waiting until what she said made the blonde child step away slightly, his eyes watching with apprehension as Mash bends down to lift the girl into his arms.

"Sorry...I wasn't able to keep my promise." She hums at his words, Gazzy walking beside the black haired boy carefully while gripping the back of his sister's robes. "It's okay...it was a difficult situation." As the trio return to the other three waiting for them, their friends gather immediately, shouting out their questions and concerns to the two in a swift manner,

"Whaddya mean none of that was magic?! What does this whole little bird thing mean?! | I'm really impressed, but what if everyone else finds out about this?! | Noooo, Mash, Kat, what if you two get expelled, or worse?!" Their words make the two glance at each other uneasily, their eyes connecting while nervousness fills their veins, Mash stuttering out rapidly,

"W-W-W-We can use m-magic just f-fine!" Kat letting out a nervous chuckle at his stuttering, her words slipping out smoothly, "Well...if all else fails, I can fly us away." The words make the four look at her in shock, her sentence making Finn question her quickly, "Fly?! But you can't use magic, can you?" She nods, giving a quick yet insecure smile, "I-I do have wings though...so does Gazzy..."

Her brother perks at the usage of his name, her hand reaching down to pat the top of his head as she remains in Mash's arms, her friends looking at her with surprise as Mash pulls her in closer, Dot speaking up from his position in their little circle, "Well, whatever their reason is for hiding these things, it must be important...anyway, we gotta protect all three of their secrets somehow!!" Lemon nods quickly, her face determined as she agrees, "Right, at least until we figure out a plan!"

"Thanks, guys..." Mash's voice comes out slowly, his grip on the girl in his arms tightening slightly, Finn responding to his comment with a shocked gleam in his eyes, "Well, that confirms it!" Dot's expression turns grim while he grits his teeth, the boy grounding out his next words carefully, "But this is a helluva mess. If they find out we're protecting them, we could be next."

His sentence makes Kat flinch, the girl clenching her hands into fists on her lap as she attempts to think of a solution, her gaze gliding across her three friends before her with a sense of unease and urgency. "I'm sorry." The two words make them all freeze, her brother remaining silent at the conversation happening before him as he glances up at his sister, "I...didn't mean to have you guys find out about me this way...so, I'm sorry."

Her eyes were downcast as she spoke, Lemon reaching forward to grasp Kat's hands within her own, "It's okay... I'm sure it's not something easily brought up in conversation." The comforting words of Lemon makes the girl offer a sad smile, her eyes connecting with the girl just as a voice breaks through the growing silence,

"I saw everything! Students who can't use magic at our school?! One an even bigger freak than that?! That's an outrage! I'm telling the teachers!" The usage of the word "freak" makes Kat flinch a small whimper slipping past her lips as Dot turns his head and making his observation, "Crap! One of the puppet students overheard us?! And he dared to call Kat a freak?!" The protective tone in his voice clear as he shouting out his words, Mash soon letting out a sigh as he responded,

"So, it's finally happened...though, that freak comment was unwarranted." His words were calm despite the irritation swimming in his eyes at the rude comment toward the girl in his arms, his three friends staring at him in shock at the lack of reaction to being found out,

'He's not even worried!'
