21 - Mash Burnedead, Kat Ride and the Troublesome Student (2)

[POV CHANGE | MASH]

I stand in front of the woods, Lance near me as I stare at the entrance of the forest. "This forest is pretty dense." I comment, curiosity on my face as I stare at the green tree area. "We're supposed to be having class here." Lance explains, and I nod slightly before I comment, "In the forest...? So we're camping?"

Lance seems to blank, "That would be a vacation. This is school." He reminds me, a voice coming through the clearing, "I'm number one! I'm number one!" I hear chanting, a red haired boy coming into the are as he stomps forward proudly, "I'm the main character of this story! The world revolves around me!"

Lance and I both stare at the boy, his gaze whirling on us quickly as he shouts, "Whaddya think you're looking at?!" I deadpan as I watch him, "Weirdo... | Another first year from Adler." Lance comments the same time I do, our eyes remaining on the guy, who comments once more, "Hey, I know you! You're the mushroom head they can't shut up about! You look like a side character to me!"

"Who's this guy?" I question, just staring at the boy, "I'mma tell you what, from now on, you're officially a side character! Because I'm about to take over as-!" He gets cut off as Finn calls out my name, coming forward, I take sight of Lemon and Kat, the latter ducking her head slightly as she walks. "Kat, are you...?" She raises her head when she hears her name called and my eyes widen, her hair style had been changed.

It was shorter, not as long as before but not too short either, the sides being able to frame her face and features nicely. The biggest difference though, was her left eye was exposed to be seen, I glance over to see Lance stiffen entirely, Lemon's expression kind of sad and I could clearly get the picture. She's not going to hide her disability anymore, and I could feel a twinge of pride but also confusion as they come up to Lance and I.

[POV CHANGE | KAT]

I stand hesitantly in front of Mash, glancing over at Lance, who seemed hesitant to comment. "Umm...I got a haircut, I decided to not be so defensive about being partially blind, truthfully I got some encouragement before I decided this..." I attempt to explain, feeling myself about to ramble, but Mash only stared for a moment before stating with clenched fists, "I'm happy for you." I could tell he was genuinely happy but there was something else floating in his eyes, that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

I fidget slightly, my cheeks turning kind of warm as I notice the expressions on the other threes faces. "Um, thank you, Lemon, for helping me with this." I show my appreciation, grabbing the hands of the female, who flusters and gives a quick nod, "Of course! Anytime!" At that I grin once more, moving to stand in a somewhat circle with Finn, Lance, Lemon and Mash. I could spot a red haired boy in the distance his expression contorting into one of disdain as he spits, the liquid managing to slap onto Mash's cheek.

I stare in shock, my eye beginning to twitch as Mash turns to stare at him, "For real?" I sigh at that response, reaching up with my sleeve to wipe it off of his face. "Geez...what was the for?" I mutter, his golden eyes meeting mine as they soften and he shrugs. Once it's wiped, I look back to the red head who seems to be seething.

"I friggin hate guys who get attention from women!! You suck! I'll kill ya! I'll triple kill ya! I'm not crazy, am I?! I mean, the ratio of men to woman is equal, right?! Why isn't there a single girl out there for me?! The answer is because chumps like you ruin the system! You're why the birthrate's declining! Won't someone just settle for me already?! Now I've got a new goal! I'm gonna join the Bureau of Magic and rid the world of hot guys!"
