A few years ago, a tournament was held among the middle school division.
It's purpose – to discover young talents among 13 - 15 year old magic users.
One magic user singlehandedly overpowered all the other competitors. Because of their dominance, doubts arose about the winner.
An investigation was held and a rules violation was discovered.
They had lied about their age. They had only been 9 at the time. Their name?
Margarette Macaron, the future prefect of Orca Dorm.

[POV CHANGE | THIRD PERSON POV]

"Divine Visionary and Sword Cane, Rayne Ames. Of all people," Margarette's words were spoken almost mockingly, a hint of excitement in their voice as the two students from their dorm stand cautiously off to the side, watching the interaction apprehensively as their prefect continues to speak, "Not only will I get to face Mash Burnedead and Kat Ride...but one of our school's Divine Visionaries."

They hum as they lean their cheek against their hand, watching as Rayne continues to stare them down, his expression tightening at the usage of the two first-years names. Macaron continues with a snap of their fingers, "But you are..." A short sigh follows as they take their seat at the newly appeared grand piano, their fingers flying across the instrument as musical notes fly with the beautiful sound escaping the object.

The song proceeds for a short amount of time, Margarette leaning their head backwards as they finish their previously started sentence, "The powerless winter." Rayne raises a brow at the display, confusion and disinterest within his yellow eyes as he contemplates the scene before him, thoughts spinning withing his mind, 'Was that supposed to do something?'

The prefect of Orca Dorm rises once more, their voice coming out perfectly calm after their display as they speak to the Visionary before them, "Not every powerful magic user strives to be a Visionary. It's just a title after all. I seek only pure strength, you sought a position. I wonder which of us is stronger." With those words and a sharp glare from both sides, the two teens pull out their wands, the two casting their spells simultaneously, "Partisan! | Sounds!"

Mash Burnedead along with his friends play a board game together within the Burnedead home. Gazzy was sleeping soundly on a bed in the corner of the room as Regro sits at the small dining table within the home, watching the six teens play the game together joyously.

Dot rolls the dice, the number 67 glowing slightly as the redhead mutters while his character token moves, "Got a 67...let's see... “Tricked by a charm spell, lose 5 million lond”? The hell?! This board game's a piece of crap!" He whimpers slightly as the magic game shrinks his character piece, the lond disappearing from in front of the boy as Lemon picks up the dice.

"I'm next...twenty-five." She smiles slightly confident as her character moves, her eyes widening and face flushing as she reads out her characters fate, "Go directly to a holding cell for putting restraints on a love interest. Skip 320 turns?" She screeches slightly as she passes her gaze between Kat and the game board, raising her hands defensively as if silently trying to promise not to attempt something like it, her character token being shifted magically into a miniature cage.

The strawberry blonde giggles slightly at the antics before her, her hand ruffling Lemon's hair gently as Lance begins speaking, "Hmph, it's not as if this board game can predict our futures, so stop wor..." He chokes slightly as his eyes land on his characters fate, soul practically escaping the boy as he struggles to read the fate out loud, "Your little sister brings home a boyfriend...return to start?!"

Finn shifts uncomfortably in his spot as he rolls his turn, a sigh of relief escaping him as he reads out his fate, "Return a lost object to the police, earn 100 lond." Mash hums slightly, picking up the dice carefully as he mutters softly, "All right, guess I'm next...a 98." He leans forward as his character token moves to its spot on the board, his voice monotonous as he reads out his fate, "It's discovered you can't use magic. Game over."

His expression drops as he stares at the board in front of him, Dot beginning to laugh hysterically as the boy attempts to hid the tears sliding down the redheads cheeks, "Hahahahaha! A game over?! Gotta laugh...just gotta...laugh it off..." Lemon shouts at the board defiantly at Mash's fate, her cheeks puffing out as she raises her fist, "This game is stupid!" All the while, Lance is pointing his wand at the game while halfheartedly casting his gravity magic on the object.

Kat can only watch with worried eyes, her hand reaching to grasp Mash's sleeve as she tugs at it gently, her grip tight as the black haired boy looks at her with a soft gaze. "I won't let that happen..." Her words were muttered, her hand trembling slightly as she glares at the game on the floor, the black haired boy watching her quivering form carefully as he places one of his hands onto her one holding him. She lets out a sigh as she picks up the dice, rolling her turn hesitantly and biting her bottom lip once she reads her character's fate,

"Your powers are discovered to be unusual, you become a test subject. Game over." Her gaze darkens toward the board, expression gloomy as Lemon and Dot go back to yelling at the board game in front of them, Lance glaring daggers at the board as he continues to cast his magic at the game, Mash narrowing his eyes at the object with distaste. "That's my wife, you stupid game! Like hell that's gonna happen! | Like hell!" Lemon and Dot's words connecting as they both yell at the game.

Finn sits quietly as he watches the chaos, his mind reeling as he recalls words his brother shared with him once before, "These days will continue. Words only have meaning when paired with action. If you can't act, it's the same as not saying anything at all." He clenches his hands into fists around his pants, Gazzy's words echoing in his head, words that were shared only between him and Regro Burnedead, "Kat never used to smile so much...and if she did it was always fake. So, I'm glad...I'm so glad that she's finally found a place she can be herself in. I don't want to see my sister fade away again."

Finn's gaze becomes more determined as he lands his eyes on the strawberry blonde, the girl turning to look at him curiously as she feels his gaze, sighing lightheartedly as she comes to terms with the horrible game. "Finn...?" She mutters softly, his name being spoken only being noticed by the boy in question. He moves his hand slowly to subtly intertwine their fingers together, his expression soft but still determined as he pledges to the girl, the words reaching only her ears in their quiet conversation, her eyes widening as she stares at their connected hands,

"I'll keep them going...and I'll be sure to protect your happiness too."

"Shiver Sounds!" Margarette was quick with their spell, the magic making the area around Rayne quiver and shake as his ears ring at the noise the magic produces. The teen remains mostly unfazed, the boy only tenses when the Orca Prefect casts out another spell, their grin deep as music notes appear all around the Visionary,

"Howling Sounds!"
