I was out of the dusty space under the couch. I brushed the dust off my clothes after pushing myself up.

"The electrical outage may be longer this time," he said, "we have about 32 hours to leave before the electricians arrive."

32 hours sounds great but it's impossible to leave an island while there are people tracking everyone traveling in and out at the docks. I turned to the window which had been blocked by the curtain since he'd already pulled the curtains back to their previous position.

"We're on an island," I spoke.

"Yes, we have to get a boat after I knock out the night shift security guards." He responded, hooking out his device to check the latest news.

"I mean, where are we even?" I asked again.

He tilted his head up from his phone, "On an island near north America."

He then explained that the island was given by the organization. An organization which was created secretly and participated by all the countries in the world.

And that's why they have such wealth to build different cells for different subjects. This organization had made human trafficking much easier to not get caught, which was what made getting test subjects effortless for them.

I glared at the phone he's using, thinking how powerless I am, and the other subjects, that literally no one in the world can save us. At first, I thought of calling the police whenever I get a chance to, but now I realized that every single government in the world is into this organization to invent creatures like me. I learn that escaping is on me and whoever else who wants to help. The cops wouldn't help us, since we are no longer human, and they wouldn't dare to sabotage the government's plans.

I swept my gaze around the room once more and sigh, "So when will we have to get going?"

He slipped his phone back into his pockets and turned his gaze back at me, "We have to wait till night time." He said, "Kaysen and the others are still on the search for you."

I took a deep breath and hesitated, and I realized that he noticed my urge to speak, "I want to confess something." I began with an awkward tone, "I could sort of control my abilities now, so if we get into any sort of trouble, I may be able to defend."

He doesn't show any expression of being surprised. He just raised a brow, "Oh, how far can it go?"

I clasped my hands together before me as I began to get nervous, "The radius is almost all the way across my cell."

He nodded at my response and crossed his arms on his chest, "That's pretty good, but it will affect me, won't it?"

"Yes, that's true. But I can go alone to distract everyone and keep them busy." I stated.

"Alright then, that's the plan." He said, then he walked over to the fridge, which I assumed that he's feeling hungry already.

"Do you know where my mother is?" I asked before he could say a word related to the fridge.

He revolved around with a surprised look as if he's never heard of my mother being held hostage, but then he spoke, "She's safe. Kaysen kept her out of here and only used her to threaten you.

"He doesn't speak further about her though," he remarked, "so I presume he's hiding something."

I saw him checking the time again and realized that it was less than two hours till 9pm.

He asked if i'm starving and realized that the last time I was fed was more than 5 hours ago, without ignoring the fact that they gave me food but I prefer not to eat it. I followed him to the fridge, expecting him to hand me one of the frozen biscuits but he reached the cabinets and took a pack of canned food for me and another for himself.
