It's been two days since the facility found out about my family's secret. The workers are still exhausted from their extended duties of guarding every door. But they still continued to work even with heavy bags under their eyes.
Thankfully, the scientists are doing just fine since they aren't on guard for those few days.
The electricians had arrived from the other state to repair the broken wires and restored the electricity back into the facility. It took a few hours but they managed to get it done. We could've asked the engineering team to repair it since these should be easy for them but we do not have the resources to repair the broken devices.
For Crystal, the one who aroused the storm, was still unconscious. Even after two days, she hasn't woken up from the few doses of drug injected into her flesh that day. The scientists checked on her and announced that she's well and healthy. And it was probably because of the overdosed effects and her exhaustion causing her to be asleep for a little longer.
After a few observations, the workers had searched through her body and found no injuries that could have led her power to be triggered. The scientist concluded that she had been able to take control of her own powers then.
I walked out of the cafeteria after having breakfast with Derrick. He left early to begin his work since he has a meeting to attend with the others.
Their workday begins earlier than me since I have flexible work time so I could attend work at any time given there isn't any trouble.
I proceeded to the engineering team's meeting room where they should be waiting for me already.
As I entered the room, they greeted me in a friendly way instead of the formal way they used to greet my father.
I greeted them back and took my seat in the middle of the meeting desk and saw the scientist who only respects my father and never once respected me. I watched him seated at the back, sitting with his back laying on the chair comfortably unlike the others who sit with proper etiquette.
He was always late but he's on time today, surprisingly. A few times, he would walk in while I was talking and take his seat after giving me a wave, then proceeded to have his breakfast in the meeting room.
Whenever he's told to do something with an idea given, he'd often change it into an idea of his own though we had already discussed in the meeting. But his creation, though wasn't initially approved nor did he state any suggestion during the meeting, never fails to surprise the team.
I had thoughts on firing him but firing workers in this place may be a problem since we need to ensure that they keep their mouths shut when they get out. And this worker had been working for us for years, his creations had been the finest out of all despite his attitude.
I began the meeting by stating that we need a new bracelet to prevent Crystal from using her abilities since it's dangerous when she can use it at any time.
They asked a few questions regarding the bracelet while Kieran, the problematic scientist, sat at the back staring into the table with dilated pupils. He seldom does that since he always had a calm and relaxing face in the meetings. The others remarked this as a demanding task and almost impossible to invent such a device since we lack a tremendous amount of details.
The meeting was dismissed after they claimed that they'll be trying their best to accomplish that, speaking without much confidence.
When I was out of the meeting room, I checked my phone just to see a few messages left after a missed call by Derrick.
'Crystal is awake.' He wrote.
Then, 'She refuses to eat and hasn't moved from the corner.'
I gave him a call whilst I began walking to subject-89's cell.
