After being locked in a cell for so long that I fail to count the days I've been here, I'd chosen to return to the family who had been the cause of my abduction. I would rather live with the family who I've never met with for my whole life than remain locked in a cell. It has been so long since I've lived in the real world, since I've engaged with nature, since I've interacted with people who treat me like a normal human being.

However, when 'father' offered me a chance to be free again, I did not grant him my answer promptly.

Kaysen was appointed to help deliver my response to him after I've made my decision. The man was foolish to have someone untrustworthy appointed. He could've appointed anyone, Derrick or any other worker, but he had chosen his son.

Even after I'd made my decision, my response was not delivered to 'father'. Instead, a fake made-up answer was given.

After that day, I'd been sitting beside the door waiting, hoping for that man to visit me once more to give me another chance to answer instead of relying on his son. But all those little surprises were just workers walking in to feed me.

I began to count on the days since that man last came in by the amount of meals they gave me, desperately hoping that he would walk in again, even though he looked disappointed with me on our last encounter.

Until one day when the lights turned on at an irregular time of the day, I knew something was up. I pushed myself to my feet instantly, excitedly strolling towards the window to greet whoever came to see me. However, my smirk sank into a frown when I saw Kaysen getting himself into the room in a suspicious way.

I paused in the middle of the room, waiting for him to speak first.

It took a while for him to finish his work. I see he's arranging a few things on the table which do not seem like paper documents or reports.

Finally, he began speaking, "How have you been, Crystal?" His tone was slightly different today. As he usually sounded tired and bored on the other days, today he sounded as if he's interested in talking.

"May I have a word with father?" I asked right away.

He scoffed, then brought his gaze up to me as he said, "I'm not an idiot. I run this place now,"

Saying that, the gate opened and he positioned himself before it with his arms behind his back. I locked my gaze on the gates as he stepped into my cell caustically.

When he was a few feet into my cell, I ran for the gates. My legs launched myself forward in an expected way, pushing myself towards the exit which I'd longed for ages.

However, I did not have a plan beforehand, nor have I thought of anything yet.

He pressed a button and I was sent to the ground within a zap of electricity.

I lied on the ground, my gaze fixated on the exit with hopes of getting out of here but I knew that with this bracelet on my wrist, I would never step out of this room unharmed.

I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth, fighting to maintain my consciousness and strength. I wanted to get up again, to race past that door once more.

He should be closing that gate by now, but it's not moving which is what appears strange to me.

"I'm really not in a good mood today, Crystal," Kaysen spoke with a sigh, which sounded terrifying for a man who had control of literally everything.

I heard a loud ringing noise, as if a metal being dropped onto the ground. It echoed around the room and when I turned my head towards him, I saw a long rusty metal stick in his hand which he's been keeping concealed the entire time.

When he started towards me, I forced myself to get up despite my delicate limbs after the shock. I ran for the door once more, bracing for another shock, if there will be any. For now, I'm not sure if I'm running for my freedom or running for my life anymore.

I felt myself limping towards the exit instead of running. I saw Kaysen's figure by my right and that flinched as I saw how easy it was to catch up to me.

Then, I felt a gust of pain in my waist and the back of my arm. My head hit the ground after a bloody scream escaped my lips.

I pressed my hand on my waist, hoping to elevate the pain which might have caused severe damage to my organs.

"Can't really retaliate now, can you?" He chuckled.

Before I could catch a breath, I saw the rusty stick being swung onto my chest.

At that point, all I could hear was ringing by my ears and nothing else, not even the scream which definitely burned my throat to shout.

I'm not sure if I'll get out of here alive anymore. I felt something click in my chest, and I was extremely sure that a bone broke after that hit.

I tried to move my left arm which wasn't hit twice in a row to cover my head but I saw myself being lifted off the ground. My hair being pulled, and myself getting dragged further back into my cell just to be thrown and positioned in a new place far away from the exit.

I screamed, I shouted a colossal of words which I couldn't hear myself and hoped for the others, workers, scientists, janitors, testers, or even my father to hear. I hoped and yearned for someone to save me. I would beg for anyone to appear as a hero but another hit came down on my legs which cut off what I was saying.

They could hear me, they definitely can since Kaysen heard me when I shouted for help once. There is definitely someone behind the security cameras, they must've seen what's happening but why is no one coming?

My hair fell and covered my teary face which blocked my vision mostly.

For a moment, I thought he'd stopped. But when I tried to move for once, I felt as if a cold metal had slid through my lower arm.

I wasn't sure what was being used on me, and I assumed it to be a knife of some sort.

A second later, I felt the warmth of my blood pouring out of the wound on my arm. It began to sting, and it became so bad that it felt as if there's a hole in my flesh and it's deepening as the time goes by.

It hurts, my limbs were all burning as if he'd set fire upon me.

When I thought this couldn't get any worse, it felt as if a hammer was bashed into my skull. As if my head had been crushed and compressed against the ground.

No, the inner voices all shouted, I can't die just yet!

Fuck!

The world went dark, and I could feel no more of the pain that mortal girl was experiencing.

I said hello, hoping for whatever awaits me in the afterlife to respond, knowing that I'll never return to that girl's body whose skull has been crushed by a heavy weapon.

I didn't hesitate nor did I think of what's going to happen next.

Whether I'll be reincarnated into a new world, or return to the previous as a ghost, I will destroy that facility, I will haunt them for eternity.

I will get my revenge.
