He was flung and thrown against the wall, his back pressing against the concrete, his spine crashing against the wall where a few cracks began forming.
My power rose before I even noticed, and my fingers took command before I could comprehend the current situation.
I was breathing hard, my lungs begging for air. The attack my powers performed took a chunk of energy out of my body and I felt myself hardly able to balance. I glared at the man still pinned to the wall before me, his grin evolving, changing from the face of despair to the face I never wanted to see again. Even arriving at death's door, even being at a disadvantage tenfold, even held above the flames of hell, he still has the dauntless urge to smile.
And I have the valorous craving to rip it off his face.
"Being the eldest is always tough I suppose," I sneered, my powers still allowing me to retain his position.
I approached him, lifting my gaze up at him for once. I forced myself to maintain our eye contacts but the horrors in my past crawled out of my healed wounds and reminded me of what this man, my brother, did to me.
I broke away before I could think of my next words. I clenched my fist beside me, silently screaming at myself to stay strong. But I couldn't, the horrors haunt me too much I couldn't even escape its cage even when I have all the advantages in this world.
I stared at his dark messy curls on his head, the closest I can get without triggering the fear that haunts me. I feel every single cell in his body bound to my control, I feel the movements, I feel the screams, I feel the tremors.
I feel power.
And I do not know my limits, nor do I have a lot of experience with it.
I only have one shot, if I lose my control in someway, he might die, and worst case scenario, he escapes my control and brings me down.
His eyes are on my neck, I feel the weight of his eyes scanning my entire body as I speak, "The tables have turned."
I take a step closer nonchalantly, "Now speak, how do you explode this island?"
He struggled against the wall, his hands fighting to break out the force pinning him on the wall. His face is a mess now, bruises, blood, and dust.
He tilts his head at me, "I told you, you aren't going to survive if you detonated it. So listen-"
"I want the solution, and I won't be the one to detonate it," I broke him off halfway through, "you can make yourself useful in that situation."
My brows are narrowed and he's staring at me with the same cold mocking eyes.
I stared at his chest, trying to locate where his heart was. I wanted to try something, and I'd always thought of this trick.
I wanted to take control of his entire body, make every part of him bleed till he can only interpret pain and nothing else.
I hear him sigh as though he's the one interrogating, "Crystal, I'm trying to tell-"
"I asked a single question," I raised my voice over him, clenching my fist as I found the connection to his heart.
He choked and he coughed, his body curled slightly.
I shot the target right in the middle.
He raised his eyes up at me, and he smiled.
Turns out the target is wearing armor as well.
"You're in a very dangerous position, Crystal," he managed to speak even when he seemed like he's going to spew out blood anytime soon.
