Chapter XL

As the sun ascended on the horizon, Kazutora guided Takemichi towards his car before they accelerated onto the road together. A weighty silence hung in the air as Takemichi stared at his hands, still grappling with the events of the previous night.

Takemichi, gasping from the pain, finally spoke up," Kazutora-kun... My memory's a blur, so I might throw some strange questions your way. Why did Toman end up like this ?".

" It was Mikey". Kazutora replied, prompting Takemichi to look at him in shock.

" Mikey has undergone a complete transformation. Toman changed because Mikey changed". Kazutora continued.

" That can't be... Someone else must've been orchestrating it ! Wasn't it just Kisaki pulling the strings ?". Takemichi asked with a sense of panic.

" While Kisaki had you captive, Pah-chin and Peh-yan were killed. Mikey ordered it, of course. Mitsuya went missing several months ago... Mikey has initiated a purge of the old Toman members. He doesn't trust his friends anymore. 

Kol's death warrant was probably on its way before Kisaki killed him. But the only one he never ordered to kill was Amalie... Nevertheless, it doesn't change the fact that he's not a delinquent anymore. 

Mikey's gone completely evil ! I'm one of the people who influenced his change, but anyway, Mikey is now a real danger. I want to talk to him face-to-face, to tell him he has to break away from those guys". Kazutora explained.

" Which guys ?". Takemichi wondered.

" Kisaki's violence. Money from the Black Dragons. If nothing is done about those two things, Mikey will never find himself again. Help me out, Takemichi. This time, I want to help Mikey... I want to save Manjiro Sano". Kazutora replied with determination.

Takemichi stayed silent, sharing the same determined look as Kazutora.

" Mikey's left arm... the ex-Black Dragons. My connection with them goes way back". Kazutora continued.

" Connection ?". Takemichi repeated with confusion.

" The ex-Black Dragons are based on the 11th generation of the Black Dragons. They're the biker gang I fought with before Toman was formed. They do shake-downs... and murders. They'll do anything for money. 

The vast amounts of wealth they produced were one of the things that sent Mikey off the deep end. I was able to find their hidden bank account thanks to my connections. I'll cut off the cash flow and put an end to it all.

And, the one who was supposed to handle Kisaki, Mikey's right arm, were Chifuyu, Amalie, and Kol. The three of them were killed because they backed Kisaki into a corner. Well, at last, I'm sure about that for Kol and Chifuyu, but about Amalie... Kisaki had always been an obsession for her, that's probably what killed her". Kazutora explained.

Takemichi's eyes widened," Huh ?! Obsession ? And how the hell did they corner a guy like Kisaki ?".

Kazutora sighed," I don't know everything, but it seemed that when they were younger and before Toman was formed, Amalie saved him... As for your other question, one day, a detective came to us, saying he was the younger brother of a woman Kisaki had killed.

He wanted revenge, and he was someone that Amalie and Kol knew well from quite a few years, even if it had been a while since they saw each other".

Takemichi seemed to realize that the detective was probably Naoto," Huh ?! Chifuyu, Kol, Amalie, and that detective were connected ?".

" Yeah. The killing of Hinata Tachibana was done on Kisaki's orders. You remember that, don't you ? A Toman member, Atsushi Sendo, crashed his car into the one Hinata Tachibana was inside of.
