alright, good news.

woozi's going to hang out with his crush after lectures. fyi, theyre going to roller skate. just like back then, when they had gone ice skating with their friend group. but this time, its just the two of them alone.

next, bad news.

wonwoo is nowhere to be seen. the same goes to ji-ae, too. what if the both of them are hanging out without him? that's possible, but knowing ji-ae, he doesnt have the heart to go out with wonwoo since he knows how much the latter despises him. poor boy.

woozi is currently waiting patiently for his final lecture to wrap up. the time being 3:57pm, three minutes left till dismissal. he's on the verge of tears and wants to send professor yang a flying kick to hurry up and maybe release them three minutes early.

the noirette shifted in his seat, glancing at the clock as he impatiently waited for the lecture to end. he couldn't focus on the professor's words, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of hoshi. today was the day he had been waiting for - their first official date. well, not actually official. since he said it would be a date as friends. but, he never said that he meant it.

as soon as the bell rang, woozi quickly gathered his things and made a beeline for the door along with the whole crowd of students rushing past the door. he scanned the crowded hallway, searching for hoshi's familiar face among the sea of students. finally, he spotted him leaning against a locker, checking his phone.

"ho- hoshi," woozi stammered, trying to keep his cool as he approached him. "ready to go?"

hoshi looked up, a bright smile spreading across his face. "hey, woozi! yeah, i've been waiting for you. let's go." hoshi says and offers a hadn out. woozi gladly accepts it and off they went!

the two of them walked side by side, the awkward tension between them slowly melting away as they chatted about their day.

"and then i told her — dude, even yewon can speak better grammar than you." woozi listens as hoshi went on and on about his conversation with his older and younger sisters. the younger remembers seeing hoshi run to his sister picking him up back when they were in kindergarten. now, they are adults, going anywhere they want without their parent's permission, and is able to say whatever the heck they want.

woozi chuckles, "your sisters are lovely! i havent met yewon in person yet though. but how's yuna doing? i havent seen her in a decade other than your instagram posts." he informs, playing with hem of his shirt. "oh, you wanted to meet them? i can have you over after our hang out." the older says confidently, 'sneaking' a hand onto woozi's shoulder. sure it might be a friendly and small gesture, but to hoshi it was a new feeling.

they stop at a red light with cars quickly driving by. actually, not exactly they.

woozi was too distracted looking down on the ground to notice the traffic light. hoshi swore the younger were just a few centimetres away from getting sent to the hospital.

before any incidents could happen, "hey! watch out!" hoshi grabs woozi by his shirt, pulling him into a tight hug. if you were ever just a bystander walking around with your friend, making your way home, and you saw them? you would totally assume that they were a couple.

woozi being in hoshi's arms, he stared blankly at the older. but hoshi was somehow busy observing the road to pay attention to the younger. hoshi look radiant... carefree... dreamy... woozi should seriously stop his miraculous ladybug obsession.

"oh fuck— did i make you uncomfortable? are you alright? are you hurt? do i have to get and my knees and beg for forgiveness? i mean, i would love to- i mean i have to, dont i? i-" hoshi lets go off woozi and talks at a fast pace. woozi wasnt even listening, just loving how such gentleman hoshi was. he's definitely a better gentleman than jisoo.

"hoshi, im fine. if it weren't for you, id be dead. thank you." the younger thanked while holding hands with the other. pink spreaded across hoshi's cheeks, "i- uhm, your, i.." hoshi starts off, getting a little awkard. "dont even mention it, jihoonie. you dont mind me calling you jihoon, right? im sorry, im just so used to calling you that.

woozi nodded, "of course! these days, i never let anyone call me that. except for you, of course. you know? childhood friend privileges." he giggles, squeezing onto hoshi's hand. the latter stares lovingly at his.. friend? he doesnt know, he just got friendzoned. anyways, of course hoshi latched closer onto woozi after the traffic light turned green.

the younger couldn't believe he was finally getting the chance to spend time alone with hoshi, the guy he had been friends with since daycare and crushing on for years. as if their intertwined hands weren't cute enough, they were flirting with each other as friends (according to woozi), which was literally the definition of no homo.

"soonyoung, you shouldn't be with me right now. your smile could blind my eyes!"

"well then, maybe you shouldnt even step foot outside. the bystanders might get distracted."

"aish, how are you better at everything i do?!"

"i might be better in dancing, but never in your singing skills or music production."

"hah! no way! okay fine, i kinda agree."

a few minutes later...

"jihoonie, are you an orphanage?"

"why would i be?"

"cause i need to give you a couple of kids."

"youngie, no dirty lines... please!"

"alright alright, ow! dont hit me!"

they reached their destination - a cozy little roller skating park that hoshi had suggested for their date. the same one that they went to when they were practicing together in their teenage years. thankfully, both of them knew how to skate as they had attended in their roller skating curriculum activity.

the two had not brang their skates in advance, but fortunately there was a few free pairs by the side.

hoshi brang him over and pointed to the shoes. "hey, we should wear these! whoever left these here must be an idiot." he chuckled while woozi stares at him in disgust but nicely. "how are you so sure that its not infected by the bacteria of many people's feet? thats gross!" he gags.

the older hums a little, "dont worry, hoonie. if you get sick, ill find whoever wore these before you and probably kill them!" he says cheerfully, as if he was joking.

but woozi knows the older is serious.

he rolls his eyes and accepts the offer anyways. after putting both pairs on, woozi was struggling on thing his rolelr skate laces. now dont get him wrong, he knows how to tie laces on his shoes. but suddenly, his brain did not want to function right now.

"are you struggling, ji?" hoshi asked and chuckled a little.

"no, shut up." the latter replies but still failing to tie them.

hoshi skates over to the younger in a slow and steady pace, "here let me help you out." he offers kindly and crouches down.

their foreheads touches but none of the two notices it, too busy about the laces. "alright, you're good to go!" the older exclaims. woozi noticed how hoshi had tied his laces in a bunny pattern, finding it funny how the older sees himself as a tiger and has an unhealthy obsession with it but still being the cutest human alive — other than himself, of course.

it all happened so fast.

one day, he's hanging out with ji-ae. then another, he has a fight with wonwoo. and then the next, he went on a friendly date with hoshi?! he cant believe how much progress he's making to be closer to hoshi again.

"okay, jihoonie! let's have race! last one to the railing gets railed!"

"wait, what?! hoshi what the fuck are you saying?! hold up!"
