Chapter 25

KARABELO: He did what!

NALEDI: Wa rasa! I have a headache.

KARABELO: No Aus'Naledi, o re he broke up with you?

NALEDI: Yes..

KARABELO: Where is he now?
I raised my shoulders .

MPHO: Why?
I turned to face her and saw she was literally on the verge of crying as well. I knew telling my siblings would be a hard pill for them to swallow but I had to.

KARABELO: Ke tlo mo bolaya motho o.

NALEDI:Please can we just forget about him for now okay? Or atleast I figure something out.

KARABELO: But he can't just leave you and the baby.

NALEDI:The what?
I have not told them about my pregnancy, how does he know.

KARABELO: Come on Aus'Naledi Naledi you've been pregnant before..

MPHO: Pluss we saw the pregnancy test in the bathroom sooo.
I tend to forget how attentive these kids are.

MPHO: Its my birthday soon and he said he was going to take me out to an expensive dinner.

NALEDI: I know ,I'm sorry Nana.

Zwides car pulled in the garage and Karabelo ran out...fuming.

KARABELO: Ya wena!
Zwide just looked at me all confused.
Karabelo immediately threw a punch at Zwide.

NALEDI:Karabelo!
I could tell Zwide was fighting every fiber in his body to not fight back.

KARABELO: You're coward.
He took a look at his hand and shook his head.

NALEDI: Go inside.
He reluctantly walked in.

ZWIDE: I'm not going to take up much of your time,I just brought this. Something to keep you and your family on your feet once I'm gone.
He took out an envelope from his back pocket.

ZWIDE: I know it's not much but I'll send more as time goes on.
The envelope was filled with money,money I didn't need.

NALEDI: So this is how it ends?

ZWIDE: I have to go.

NALEDI: But I'm your Queen and you're my King ,we can't be without eachother.

ZWIDE: I'm no King Naledi....
He gave me the last kiss on my forehead and drove away.

So it's the 3 of us again, with a little baby on the way. I can't believe I'm going to be a single mother..

It's been 5 months since my separation with Zwide so I'm now 7 months down the line. I'm so excited to welcome my baby boy into the world. The 3 of us moved to the Kzn to be close to the rest of the family ,you know. 
Karabelo and Mpho changed schools and I must say,they've been copping very well. Katleho pulled some strings and I found a job as a telemarketer for a small business in town. Zwide has been living up to his word,sending me R500k EVERY MONTH.

Every month I always cross my fingers hoping that he sends money...not because I need it because it shows me that he's still alive. I wonder how he's doing...I hate that he hasn't been here with me for the most part of my pregnancy...

Does he even know that he's going to have a song?

ONALERONA: Dinner is ready.
Living with this much people in one house can be amazing but so over especially when you're pregnant but atleast the fam has been very accommodating.

NALEDI: Its almost like you knew I was craving cabbage ka papa.

ONALERONA: I did ..it's literally the only thing you talk about.

KATLEHO: My nephew o tlo hlaha a rata cabbage straight.

NALEDI:E monate hleng ,especially..

KATLEHO: Ka masapo..yeah yeah we get it.
We all gathered at the table to eat dinner.

NKGONO MARIA: O ko rapele mo Jabu.
Ehh with Malome Jabu praying we might even find ourselves eating tomorrow.

MALOME JABU: Modimo ,bless this family, bless the hands that made this food,bless Naledi and her child...kill the father Lord ,kill that bastard !

I opened my eyes and found Ona gawking at malome. Is he being serious right now.

MALOME:Make sure he never sees the light of day ever again!

ONA:Yes!

NALEDI: Amen.
I said cutting the prayer short.

ONA:What a beautiful prayer Malome.

NALEDI: No ,that was disrespectful.

ONA:To who?

NALEDI: To God.

ONA:Oh please...

NALEDI:And to me ...and my child along with his father.

ONA:Ohh the same one that left you?
How dare she.

KATLEHO:Okay....let's eat before the food gets cold shall we.

NALEDI: I've lost my appetite.

NKGONO MARIA: Oh Naledi you have to eat.
I shook my head and stood up.

ONA:Naledi you really need to move on from that man.

NALEDI: I have but that doesn't mean I want him dead.

ONA:Naledi you haven't moved on..every call,every text ,every sms you get you just hope and wish it comes from him. You constantly look at his pictures, constantly stalk him on his socials...

NALEDI: He's the damn father of my child!
I yelled.

ONA:Well where is he now? Huh?

NALEDI: I...

ONA:Exactly. Not here ,we're here..the people that love and support you ,why can't you see that.

NALEDI: I do. I really do and I appreciate it . All of you.

KATLEHO: We're always going to be here for you Naledi.  We're family.
I took deep breath and sat down. Maybe I should make peace with what my life has come to. Here is my family, my only family. Everyone else ,including Zwide shouldn't matter.
