SOPHIA'S POV

I woke up from my deep, dreamless sleep, and my head felt much better. I sighed and felt the muscular arms that engulfed me. Aiden. Why couldn't he leave me alone? I didn't want to be left alone but it was better than me ruining his life.

The thought of Michael crossed my mind. I winced. When I'd moved from London to New York (I was an American, but I'd been born and raised in London), I was just going to start the freshmen year at high school. Michael, was not my boyfriend, though I'm pretty sure he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend.

My father, being the racist prick, he is, shot Michael in the arm, when he rang the doorbell to my house. Michael's parents sued my father, but with the powerful connections he had, my father just got Michael's family deported to Mexico. His relatives, too, were deported, and I had cried for a week because of the 27 lives I had ruined.

Aiden was white, like me, but I knew there was something different about him. He was different, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Aiden," I said softly, pushing him away from me.

"Hmm?" He hummed. "How's your head?"

"Much better, thanks. I'm hungry." I said.

He got up and said, "I made you some food."

I tilted my head and got up too. I saw a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the plate.

He smiled sheepishly, "It is the only vegetarian food I know. But, I got you chocolates though!"

I glanced at the huge pile of chocolates on the desk. I grinned and said, "Thank you!!" So much chocolate could last me for a year!

I ate the sandwich without complaining. Amber came to the dorm at 4:30 and she saw me and Aiden sitting awkwardly.

"How are you guys?" She asked. "You were blackout drunk on the party floor last night."

"We're better now. Thanks for getting us." Aiden replied. "I'm just... you know, going to my dorm."

Aiden left leaving me and Amber in her dorm. "You know he likes you, right?" She said.

"No he doesn't!" I protested.

Amber motioned to the large pile of chocolates on her desk. "Would you buy chocolates worth $500 for just anyone?!"

"I don't know, okay! Anyways, I need the work done in class today."
