SOPHIA'S POV

I could finally focus on my classes once Aiden and I had separated. I sat next to Amber in the class, and was diligently listening to the lecture and taking notes.

After half an hour, my concentration shattered and I was focusing on my play for the soccer selections. I had three options:

1. Knock everyone's socks of with my abilities.

2. Play dumb, and act like I don't know what a ball is.

3. Skip it, and move on with my life.

I decided to go on with No. 2, and before I knew it, it was time for soccer selections. I did not have my own soccer cleats, so I was going to borrow Aiden's. He was the only person I knew with cleats, though his shoe size was 11, and mine was 6.

I went up to the coach and stated, "I do not have cleats."

He told me to play in my regular sports shoes. I mean, at least I won't trip and fall.

We were made to run five laps of the field, and while running, I focused my eyes on Aiden, and he was intently staring at me too.

I smiled and waved and he waved back. The coach then made us do some drills and I aced those flawlessly. He divided us into two teams of 7, as there were fourteen girls for the selections.

The match commenced, and I had opted to stay behind as a defender. After five minutes, a girl from the opposing team, managed to get the ball free, and I blocked her.

She sneered, "Leaching off your boyfriend's talent, I see..."

I was holding myself back, and pretending to play dumb, but this was it. The push I needed. I stole the ball from her in seconds, dribbled past members of the other team, and landed a perfectly arced goal on the top left corner of the net.

I looked at Aiden, and he was staring at me, dumbfounded. I don't know why, but playing soccer made me feel so alive, in a way that no other sport could make me feel. I glanced at Coach Wilkins and he smirked at me, and I smirked back. I was unstoppable now.
