AIDEN'S POV

I looked at Sophia in awe, she was so good at soccer. She was better than me! Near the end of the game, when she had already scored four goals, the girl who had angered her earlier tried to tackle her.

When she was unable to take the ball from Sophia, she kicked Sophia on her left ankle with her cleats, really hard. Normally, it wouldn't actually do anything, but I had a really horrible feeling about it.

Sophia immediately fell down to her knees, and her eyes brimmed with tears. I ran towards her.

"Sophia, can you walk?" I asked her.

She shook her head, indicating that she couldn't.

"Can you show me your ankle?" I soothingly asked.

She nodded her head and I removed her shoes and her socks. I could evidently see that her left ankle had swollen to thrice the size of her right ankle.

"Can I carry you?" I asked her for her permission.

Between tears she choked out, "No, wait."

Sophia tried to get up on her own, but I was guessing she knew she wouldn't be able to walk. She had probably already injured that ankle before.

She fell as soon as she put weight on her foot. Without asking her, I just scooped her up in my arms and carried her bridal style to the nurse's office.

"Pl-please put me down," she whimpered.

It felt like a knife to my heart, seeing Sophia crying. I didn't like that at all. "Hey. Please don't cry." I said, wiping her tears.

"A-Aiden...?" She sniffled, "I- I can't do this..."

"No one is asking you to do anything, princess. I'll just take you to the nurse, she'll patch up your foot, and we'll be good to go." I told her.

I put her down on the bed, explained to the nurse about what happened and watched as the nurse worked. She put a gel on Sophia's ankle, and patched it up with a crepé bandage.

"No sports activities for atleast two weeks!" The nurse yelled as I was carrying her to her dorm.

"I can walk now, please put me down." She said.
