AIDEN'S POV

I didn't want Sophia to see this. So I whisked her away from that man, and took her to see the interrogation of the grey wolf. We watched from behind a two-way mirror- We could see him but he couldn't see us.

The grey wolf wasn't that old, he looked as if he was in his early thirties. One of our packs best torturer was interrogating him, and I watched as the man slowly cracked.

"Alright!" He yelled, squeezing his eyes shut, "I'll tell you everything!"

"That's what I want to hear." The torturer said in a raspy voice.

Sophia whispered to me, "My father could use him."

I winced and whispered back, "We can't let anyone know you're related to the mafia. They would have you chained like these men."

She nodded, and turned to look back to the man. But I couldn't take my eyes off her.

She was wearing my clothes, and she still looked so beautiful. The yellow lighting illuminated her skin, and her green eyes looked pained as she saw what was happening to the man.

Her hair were loosely hanging out of a ponytail, and I couldn't resist the urge to touch a few strands of her hair back.

She looked at me, and smiled, but silently looked away. I was able to divert my attention from what had diverted my attention in the first place (Sophia) and focused on the interrogation.

"-the Blood Moon pack rejected us, and we were forced to become r-rogues." The man's jaw whimpered.

"Go on! Why do you keep stopping?!" The torturer screamed.

"We heard that this pack had a senior alpha a-and we thought we could, uh, take over this p-pack." He said, shamefully.

I also felt kind of bad, since I was supposed to take the role of alpha one year ago. Alphas mostly retired when they were fifty, and my father was fifty-five and still the alpha.

I wasn't even supposed to be the alpha. My elder sister, my parents' first born, was to become alpha, but she chose to become a rogue.
