AIDEN'S POV

I returned back to my dorm, finished some of the pending assignments and went for a run. Fierro, my wolf, had been going extremely crazy, and was begging for control.

Since I could not focus on anything, I called my beta and best friend, Callum.

"Not a good time, bro." Callum said.

I mischievously said, "What's happening?"

"Me and Jane had some vibe. You ruined it." He said haughtily.

"I take full pleasure." I said.

"Did you ask her?" I questioned.

"Yup." He said popping the p. "We are getting married in three months!"

I said proudly, "You finally got the nerve to do it. I thought I'd die before that happened."

"Shut up," he grumbled, "You're the one who doesn't have the nerve to talk to Sophia!"

"I have plenty nerve!" I yelled.

I heard Jane's voice, "Wait. Aiden found his mate?"

"Give Jane the phone." I instructed Callum.

I could hear the excitement in Jane's voice, "What's her name? Did you mark her?"

I rubbed my eyes and said, "No I did not mark Sophia."

"How..? You know that it's unhealthy for you and your wolf if you don't mark her in the first forty-eight hours, right?"

"I know. But how am I supposed to explain this to Sophia?" I asked.

Jane gasped, "Don't tell me... Sophia's a human?"

"Yeah." I sighed.

"Anyways," She said, trying to change the subject, "You will be coming for our wedding, right?"

"I won't miss it for the world." I said truthfully.

"Get Sophia along too, if you can." She suggested.

"Ok, bye," I said and ended the call.

I ate some food that I had stored in my fridge, and tried to go to sleep. But I couldn't. I lay awake thinking of Sophia, her amazing scent that I could get drunk on. She smelt like petrichor in a garden of roses.

The entire night, I lay thinking of her, not getting a wink of sleep.
