chapter nine

I jump when my phone starts ringing, i let out a curse as i grab it on the floor

I slept on the sofa and i'm probably looking like a mess right now

'' yes...'' i say with a sleepy voice, praying inside that it's not Samantha calling to tell me that Jungkook burns the whole building now

'' don't tell me that you were sleeping '' says Kailah's voice

I sigh as i look at the name in the display like to make sure it is really her

'' why shouldn't i? It's sunday...''

I think...

'' i know it, i know you would forget about the horse race today...'' she complains

I groan! She's right, i really forgot about it

Her equestrian club and a few other ones are having a horse race today

And she told me to come cause it's fun...and because it's always good to support your friends passion

But, i totally forgot that i promised her that i'll be there, now i have to keep the promises i made when i was happy and stressless while my whole life is burning down

'' i...i'm coming...'' i mumble while rolling down the couch

'' you better come cause we have to talk also about the way you left the ball friday night ''

An other groan escapes my lips while i'm walking to my bedroom

'' yeah...'' i say vaguely

I hung up before she could add anything else, i drop myself into my giant Teddy bear's arms instead of going to the bathroom

Life feels so good in my fluffly baby's arms , i sigh heavily and close my eyes

I still have a few hours before the horse race, so...let me sleep a little bit more

I know my life is a mess right now, but sleeping is a very effective solution

A few hours later, i'm walking in the big hippodrome while looking for my bestfriends

There were a lot of important personnalities here also, of course...horse race is a rich people type of hobby

Maybe i can find a man here...

Finding a man is not the problem actually, the problem is... finding a man who would want to marry me tomorrow after we just share our names

I finally notice Kailah waving at me, smiling happily

She really looks in her element today

She wears a white linen dress with a large hat and black short gloves , her red lipstick is popping and you can see it a hundred miles away

I smile to her while she opens her arms to greet me

'' oh my Lord...you look delicious today ''

I make a face then laugh at her way to say beautiful all the time

I have to admit that i made an effort to change my color palette today

It was so hard to find an other color than black in my closet, but hopefully i found a light blue dress with its matched scarf rolling around my neck, and my sunglasses hiding all the pain i'm carrying inside of me lately

'' thank you, and you look as delicious as me '' i reply as turning her around to check her outfit

Before i even ask where is Suki, she appears in the frame with her pink miu miu tweed set, she looks like the missing flower in the area
