Eighteen

It had been 5 months since I had last heard or seen Madara.

Or should I say Madara Uchiha?

I had of course regained my full memory and in the process of doing so, a fear had been engraved in me.

Aki and I had started a new life for ourselves and it was going great until people we used to know were suddenly dying left and right.

Aki tried to convince me it was a coincidence but deep down I knew it was a sign. Or a warning at least.

I had gotten a job at a diner not far from our home and over time I couldn't help but notice the weight I had gained.

"Stop being stubborn and schedule an appointment." Aki scolded. I nervously laughed and continued eating.

I looked out the window and looked down at the city below us. I had been also attending therapy but if I'm being honest, it hasn't helped a bit.

My little brother Kaito is all I think about. The guilt of not being about to escape the foundation sooner before Danzo sent him on his final mission.

"Y/n are you okay?" I stood up from the kitchen stool and gripped the counter tightly holding my balance.

I feel very sick.

I rushed to the trash and emptied my stomach.

"I thought you weren't throwing up anymore.." Aki mumbled as she rubbed my back in a comforting manner.

"I thought it stopped too," I muttered.

These last few months had been hell. whether I had sickness in the morning or throughout the week.

A few weeks after I had gotten away from Madara, I would say were the worst weeks. Aki and I assumed it was from the trauma but my mind wondered what that one nurse had said.

"You and the baby are okay..."

Maybe I was just in denial. After all, I was a fool for letting him do that anyway.

Where is my mind?

"Let's go," Aki said helping me into the bathroom.

"I'm scheduling an appointment for you tomorrow. This isn't normal n/n (nickname)"

I sighed and gave in.

It was the next day and I was dragging along. I dreaded going into the hospital and Aki knew I was stalling.

"The quicker we get this over with the better," She groaned dragging me out of the car. I anxiously looked up at the hospital.

"You will be fine, I will be here the entire time y/n." She reassured.

Closing my eyes I sighed and nodded. Once we entered a nurse directed us to the room we were assigned.

Later on, the nurse drew some blood work and by the time she had finished I had already felt myself becoming worried,

She entered the room with a smile on her face and my results. "You are 5 months pregnant."

Aki's smile dropped and I just sighed. "Why are you reacting like that...Like you knew already!" She jumped from her seat in disbelief.

"Is that why you didn't want to drink with me?"

"Can you excuse us for a moment..." The nurse nodded and exited the room.

"When I had awakened from being unresponsive, a doctor told me that I might have been. However, on the mission, we were sent to the Rain village, and I was injured badly."

"Yeah, I remember," She walked to the window and sighed. "What are you going to do?"

"I don't have any intentions of killing my children," I softly placed a hand on my stomach as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"I was going to tell you this morning but there are rumors that a Uchiha is getting married soon." My eyes shot up at her at the mentioned name.

"Let's hope this means they are moving on with their life," I muttered.

Aki sat on the seat beside me and rubbed my back. "I know you will be a great mother y/n. We just have to take this one day at a time, you can't let yourself be stressed about this, ok?"

"I don't know a single thing about parenting. You see what happened to Kaito. He was like a little brother to me and I- I couldn't even save him." I cried.

"Y/n. What happened to him was not your fault, he wouldn't want you blaming yourself like this." She wiped my stray tears.

"You got this y/n. If I didn't believe you could do this, you know I would tell you." She said causing us both to laugh a little.

The nurse came back later and scheduled appointments for us. She also gave me a guide I could go by to ensure the baby and I stay healthy.

So that's what I did.
